LeBron scoring 100 points in MJ's era—fact or pure fantasy?

NBA is truly, and it’s thriving. Wonder why? Because we have our first Michael Jordan-LeBron James post the Paris Olympics glory. It was none other than Stephen A. Smith, the certified MJ fan, who took the GOAT debate to the cleaners. However, this time, the 56-year-old NBA analyst had it difficult to counter R&B singer Tank’s flowing arguments, batting for the Los Angeles Lakers superstar, King James. And eventually dropped a wild claim.

In the latest episode of The Stephen A. Smith, Dr.Durrell “Tank” Babbs Sr. dropped an extravagant claim on riled-up Stephen A. amid the intense debate. Tank said, “You send LeBron James back in time and give him the mentality of those back in time. He’s going to score a 100.” But, before arriving at this point, the singer had to bring his “monsters” analogy into the picture.

Of course, it all started when Smith disagreed to accept LeBron James as the GOAT, as he initially countered, “Even at his greatest he wasn’t the greatness of Michael Jordan.” Following that, it’s only a barrage of attacks from the singer. Tank believed that MJ was the greatest of his era and ahead of his time, and proceeded with a unique argument.

Tank added, “When Michael Jordan came around, (he) was the only Michael Jordan. He was the only man, the only human capable of what he was doing. We can go down the list of people who were like that, from Floyd Mayweather to Roy Jones to Tiger Woods. They were so far ahead in their space, but what happened is as they are the blueprint… Everyone started learning from that blueprint and everyone started evolving from that blueprint so as Michael Jordan was a monster among men, LeBron James is a monster among monsters.”

Even then, it wasn’t convincing enough for Stephen A. Smith as he again argued that MJ wasn’t compared to anyone while Bron was. Tank didn’t hold back either. He went on to list the “monsters” from the current generation to make another argument.

Who are the “monsters” of the current generation?

In response to Smith’s “With Michael Jordan, there was no debate” argument, Tank said, “He (MJ) was that much better than those people in that generation he was the first he is the blueprint but now you have Steph you have KD, you have James Harden,” and went on to list the monsters of the generation. The list included Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Davis, Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum, and Nikola Jokić.

Have an interesting take?

After he listed out the monsters, Tank said, “These are monsters and LeBron is shining above amongst these monsters, who would go back in time and demolish the 80s and 90s.” And this wasn’t enough for the veteran analyst, as he still critiqued LeBron James for falling short against the Dallas Mavericks and the Golden State Warriors in the past.

Thus, Dr.Durrell “Tank” Babbs Sr. came to his final argument where he claimed LBJ would drop 100 points if he went back in time with the same mentality of the 80s and 90s superheroes. Nevertheless, this is just an instance that reflects Tanks’ strong mentality. Going head to head in a GOAT debate with Stephen A. Smith. The last time Tank proved it to the NBA world was in the 2014 NBA playoffs, refusing to sing the national anthem.

When former LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling made it to the headlines after an audio tape of controversial racial remarks on African Americans leaked. It created absolute unrest in the NBA world, especially in the LA Clippers locker room. As per reports, the players even thought about boycotting the game as a protest. However, they went on to play the game, anyway. However, Tank, who was scheduled to sing the national anthem for the playoff game, refused to sing, making a strong restraint.
