Accolades tend to keep following LeBron James. Some of his naysayers often blame it on him playing in the league for 22 years. Well, against the Sacramento Kings, the Akron Hammer claimed another historical record that exemplifies his longevity. Surpassing the great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar once again, James’ 57,447th minutes made him the player with the most time under his legs. And to commemorate it, James chose humor.
Taking to Instagram, he first posted a picture of him showcasing his record on a sheet of paper. It read “1 billion minutes” which could be a trick by his teammates. But while James appreciated his long time spent on the floor, one statement baffled the fans. “Been a helluva ride. 1 million minutes Wilt style!” he mentioned with some laughing emojis.
With him not being close to having played a million minutes, many wondered about the reference to the iconic Wilt Chamberlain. Luckily, one fan cleared up the intrigue. “It’s a joke cus most ppl say that Wilt didn’t actually score 100,” the comments mentioned. Jokes aside, LeBron James did express his gratitude for becoming the lone record holder for minutes played.

“Last night became the NBA All-Time Leader in Minutes! Crazy to even think about! Very thankful and blessed!” the four-time MVP mentioned in his caption.
With all that being said, it’s probable to think that LeBron James will continue to hold this record for many years. It seems difficult for any active player to play for 22 years and with the consistency of James, who has never averaged less than 30 minutes per game. The closest to him currently is Chris Paul, who still trails his good friend by 13,000 minutes!
It’s safe to say, the King will truly stand alone for this record until another anomaly emerges in the future.

It goes without saying that a record as such comes with its acclaim. One of the finest heavyweight boxers of all time, Evander Holyfield, was among those who heaped praise on LeBron James. The NBA fan left an applauding emoticon as a way to congratulate the Akron Hammer for surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Furthermore, Cash Nasty, a popular social media creator, wrapped up the sentiments of millions. The avid LeBron James fan wrote “Goat” under the comments. With another historic feat on his resume, James’ case continues to grow stronger, even though this record might not rank as high as some of his others.
However, what it does signify is LeBron James’ undivided devotion to the sport. Someone who appreciated it was Lethal Shooter, a basketball content creator that has worked with several NBA players and most recently Stephen A. Smith, to correct their shooting form. He wrote, “Your entire life been dedicated to basketball. Respect. You understand it”.
