Bronny James turns 20 on October 6, when the Lakers face the Suns in their second of six preseason games. But the real excitement isn’t just about the game. LeBron James has the NBA buzzing as he prepares to share the court with his son, fulfilling a long-held dream. For the 19 years that they shared the roof, Bronny has undoubtedly learned a lot from his legendary father. Now, they’ll make history together, wearing the same jersey, side by side. In a conversation with ESPN, Bronny responded to the intriguing question, “What have you learned from your dad about basketball more than anything else?”

Bronny James replied: “I’d say the schedule and routine that he goes by in regards to keeping his body straight and making sure he’s getting his work in at the same time. Studying the game as well, I just try to take bits and pieces from everything that he’s done over these 20-something years and implement them into my routine. The NBA All-Time Scorer’s training routine is an open secret. Even on the threshold of 40, he easily surpasses the youngsters. From lifting weights, yoga, and more James Sr. is meticulous about his fitness. And well, this is worth something learning from. Moreover, James Jr., who’s grown up practicing with his father, has surely picked the “bits and pieces” that could work like a magic mantra on the court.

However, the father-son duo’s competitive side has also seen the light of day. Right ahead of the preseason, Bron and Bronny had their first alleged face-off. Well, the bout wasn’t ‘too serious’ per se, but their reactions and friendly rebuttal have made quite a buzz.

Bronny James and the 4x NBA champ recently had a training session that quickly became a topic of discussion among basketball enthusiasts. The 19-year-old revealed that he caught his father “step out of bounds” while watching a clip of the session. And well, if you thought Bron would let go without a debate, you’re mistaken.

“What do you mean, ‘I’m not going to go there now’? You just went there. I stepped out of bounds? They don’t even have that camera angle up the baseline like that,” LeBron said. “Tell them about the stop I got on you when you were driven out of bounds, though.” And Bronny replied, That was a foul too. Slapped my whole arm.” This endearing banter left both father and son smiling ear-to-ear, and even the hosts shared in their joy. Moreover, you could feel LeBron James’ pride in his expressions upon seeing his son turn into a fierce competitor and an equally bold critic.
