LeBron James’ Latest Move with a $2.18 Trillion Company Raises Eyebrows – Is There More Than Meets the Eye? LeBron James is known to be a keen businessman outside of his basketball career. The 4x champion has turned himself into a global brand and most of his earnings come from partnerships, ownerships, endorsements, and the like. It wasn’t that long since he joined the exclusive billion-dollar club. He was the first active NBA player to hit $1 billion at just 37 years old!
LeBron James is not just a basketball legend, he’s also a savvy businessman whose off-court ventures continue to thrive. His business enterprises and ventures have only seen growth since he arrived in the league. One of the many endorsements from his younger years was the popular electronics brand, Beats By Dre. Having become the brand ambassador in 2008, Bron also ended up being a part owner of the iconic brand. And when the $2.18 trillion Apple bought the company in 2014, the ‘King’ received more than $30 million.
James has made a few appearances in Dre, with the latest sneak peek clip going viral since the Lakers superstar posted it on Instagram. The short ad features LeBron at a party with Lil Wayne’s 2008 second official single A Milli playing in the background. The ‘Akron Hammer‘ suddenly feels like the music isn’t loud enough. And that’s when the audience is given a glimpse of Beats by Dre’s new launch, Pill Speaker.

Known for its premium quality audio products, the company made sure to bring in all the top names to expand its reach. They have always had a broad roster of elite celebrity endorsers. Lady Gaga, DJ Khaled, Kylie Jenner, Michael Phelps, Travis Scott, Lil’ Wayne, Ben Simmons, Nicki Minaj, and a lot more. You might have understood the range of these products.
And now with Apple’s imprint on Dre, there is no doubt that their fan base and celebrity line has grown. However, the Lakers superstar’s video comes with a mixed reception.
Fans accuse LeBron James of, once again, directing attention to himself in the Celtics’ 18th ring
The fans in the comments ranged from happy ones who were relieved LeBron James got the lyrics right. The other segment involves individuals pointing out that he posted this news right after the Celtics’ win. Los Angeles and Boston were tied for the most championships in NBA history. With tonight’s 4-1 victory over Dallas, they now hold the most titles in the league.
This is not the first time that the ‘L Train’ has been called an attention seeker. In fact, throughout his whole career, it has been a point of contention. A recent scenario was Bron hinting at retirement during the All-Star pregame presser. However, no one was buying it. And they had good reason not to.
A similar occurrence happened after the Lakers were swept by the eventual champions, Denver in the Western Conference Finals. The cryptic God had dropped yet another message during the post-game presser. “Just for me personally, going forward with the game of basketball, I got a lot to think about.” So, we can’t blame fans for speculating that James’ move was too good to be a coincidence.
What do you think of the whole shebang? Was LeBron being intentional? Or was it just an unfortunate coincidence? Let us know what you think!
