Ever since LeBron James and Stephen Curry joined forces for the Olympics, fans have only wanted one thing. To see them on the same team in the NBA as well. However, in a recent interview, Steph shut down those rumors when he claimed he would “probably not” team up with LBJ again. If that wasn’t enough, King James’ latest comments might’ve shattered fans’ hopes permanently…
Addressing the notion of ending his career with the Lakers, LeBron said, “I think that’s the plan. I would love for it to end here… Came here to play my last days of my career and to finish it off here.”
Obviously, he understands the brutal nature of the business and how quickly things can change in the NBA. But he is hopeful about retiring wearing Purple and Gold, “I’m also not silly or too jaded to not know the business of the game as well, the business of basketball. But I think my relationship with this organization speaks for itself and hopefully, I don’t have to go nowhere before my career is over.”

Well, it has been six years since LeBron moved to LA, and he has achieved some key career milestones during his tenure. Winning his fourth championship was one of them. Breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record. And much more. Of course, the franchise has a special place in his heart. Moreover, LBJ is tied with the team at least until 2026 because of his two-year $101.3 million deal.

Sure, Rob Pelinka might be slightly willing to trade him before his contract expires, like he traded D’Angelo Russell and Maxwell Lewis in exchange for Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton. However, the key point is LeBron has a no-trade clause protecting him, which means he can only be traded if he wants to leave LA. Meanwhile, it doesn’t look like Steph is going anywhere either!
Stephen Curry makes ‘Warrior for Life’ claim and LeBron is unlikely to move to the Bay Area
Well, LeBron has made it clear that he wants to retire in the City of Angels. But what about Steph? Can he join the Lakers to team up with his pal? He can, but it doesn’t look like he wants to, considering his comments in a recent interview, “I’ve always said I want to be a Warrior for life. At this stage in my career, I feel like that’s possible.”

Obviously, winning is still a priority for the Bay Area legend. But he has faith in his team to stay competitive, at least until he retires, “I’ll continue to make the decisions that are best for me and for my career at the end of the day when it comes to just the imagination. I want to win. Let’s put it this way, it’s a longwinded way of saying that it if it is a situation where you’re a bottom feeder and it’s just because you want to stay there, I’d have a hard time with that. But I don’t think that’s going to be the reality.”
Moreover, Steph is tied to the Warriors for three more years because of his $62.5 million extension. So, he is likely to hang his boots where he’s played his entire career. Meanwhile, James is unlikely to move to the Bay as he reportedly rejected that offer last season while Joe Lacob and Jeanie Buss were in trade talks involving him. Unfortunately, fans might have to come to terms with never seeing LeBron James and Stephen Curry play together again. Thoughts? Drop ’em below.
