“How does it keep getting better?” This was what Stephen Curry said to LeBron James after losing in a 145-144 thrilling double-OT encounter last season. Right when fans thought that it couldn’t get any better, the superstar duo teamed up for the first time in Team USA jerseys and rocked the world. Above all, the duo also hinted that the fans would see more of it in the future. Three months after making the statement, Steph demolished the castle.
In August, Team USA, led by Bron, traveled to Paris to compete in the Olympics. The US side won the gold medal in an undefeated fashion. One of the key highlights came in the last game of the trip, when King James and Steph expressed their brewing camaraderie to the world. Not to forget, the Akron Hammer even pulled out the Night Night celebration after the Bay Area superstar dropped four three-pointers in a row to seal the deal against the French team.
A few days after the wholesome exhibition, Curry, in a statement, said, “I think there’s a deepened respect and friendship there… Hopefully, there will be more experiences in the future even if we’re teammates or not,” speaking of his union with LeBron James. To top it all, the Lakers superstar shared the statement on his IG stories, leaving the NBA world in a frenzy.

While the statement sunk in with every NBA fan, Curry recently broke everyone’s heart. Ahead of the Christmas Day challenge against LeBron James, the superstar sat down for an interview with ESPN’s Malika Andrews. She asked the most obvious question of whether the duo will team up in the NBA. Stephen Curry simply said, “Probably not.” He didn’t stop at that but continued to give content ideas to podcasters, saying, “I think the what ifs and all that type of stuff you kind of just leave that for the whatever platform people want to talk about it.”
So, is it a yes or a no? We never know.
