Over the years, LeBron James made it clear that before he decides to hang his boots, he wants to share an NBA court with his son, Bronny James. And now that Bronny has entered his name in this year’s draft and is doing wonders at the Combine, LeBron might be just a few weeks away from realizing his dream. However, if Bronny does end up getting drafted to the same team as his father, LeBron’s old Miami buddy Udonis Haslem believes it could cause “a sticky situation”.
Discussing Bronny’s future in the NBA with his dad still active, Haslem revealed why that can be a problem, “Being in the locker room with your dad, that’s a sticky situation because everything that somebody says, they gonna side eye and look at Bron. So, he wants to establish his own opportunity, his own legacy.” Not only will teaming up with his father put added pressure on Bronny, but it might also put their coaches and teammates in a tough position.
Considering that LeBron is a veteran in the league and arguably the greatest player ever, even when coaches and teammates have some constructive criticism for Bronny, they might hesitate to give their honest opinion in the locker room, worried about how LeBron might react. Moreover, being well aware of what happens to those who come on the bad side of LeBron James, no one might dare to say anything negative about his son, which might hinder the nineteen-year-old’s progress in the NBA.

While the father-son duo team-up would be ideal for clicks, views, and historical purposes, it might really be better for Bronny James to kickstart his NBA journey somewhere away from his father’s shadow.
Does Bronny James dream of playing with LeBron?
Although LeBron has spoken numerous times about it, for the first time yesterday, the world found out what Bronny thinks about ‘the possibility’. Surprisingly and unexpectedly, he replied, “No. Never. My dream has always just been to put my name out, make a name for myself, and of course, get to the NBA.” Almost burdened with the large shadow of his legendary father, Bronny, for the first time in his life has a chance to create his own identity at the highest level of the game. As this could be his only one, he wants to fully use this opportunity.
“Not being identified as just LeBron James’ son, I feel like that would be a great end goal.” In an attempt to build his own legacy and let people know what he is capable of, Bronny is slowly but steadily making that happen.

He competed against the best athletes of this year’s draft class at the Combine and shocked everyone by recording an over 40-inch maximum vertical leap. Then, shooting lights out from beyond the arc, the USC star was second in both, stationary and motion three-point shooting drills!
With his parents watching from the stands, Bronny shook off all those early jitters he had in the first scrimmage and scored a team-high thirteen points in the second game. With Bronny battling every challenge in the book, he has proved that he might be more suited for the NBA than people predicted.

Yes, he might not become an absolute legend like LeBron James and break records in his late 30s, but Haslem believes he could be a player like Jrue Holiday, the kind of player your team can’t win without.
