LeBron at 39: Is he defying age or just proving critics like Skip Bayless wrong?

Sometimes it’s hard to understand whether Skip Bayless is a LeBron James critic. The American sports columnist has somewhat been a Bron detractor, and the NBA fans know him for the same. However, in recent days, Mr. Bayless has been quite mild towards the 4x champ. But some people wonder if someone hacked down Skip’s X handle or something. Because what’s going on with all the praises?!

LeBron James is just seven weeks away from turning 40. Yet, the way he continues to play, you’d wonder if he’s still the rookie of 2003. After a five-game road trip, the Lakers returned home, and a much-needed win came along the way. Pinning down the Philadelphia 76ers 116-106 on Friday at Crypto.com Arena, the King and his team reclaimed a win. But, the highlight was LeBron’s triple-double- 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists. The 20x NBA All-Star was surely on the roll before the home crown. Meanwhile, Anthony Davis returned and finished with 31 points; AD is back!

Well, James’ 22nd season’s ‘achievement unlocked’ moment seems to have forced Skip Bayless to type out a post in caps. He took to his X handle to say in all caps:

LEBRON JAMES: MOST DURABLE SUPERSTAR EVER. NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT. JUST BANGED KNEES WITH RUI, SHOOK IT RIGHT OFF, SCORED TWICE BANG-BANG. NEVER HAD A CAREER-THREATENING SURGERY. RAREST OF RARE.

So, Bron’s 41st triple-double for the Los Angeles Lakers really did wonders on Bayless. Look at a detractor having his star-struck moment! However, fans are convinced that hackers have taken over the columnist’s social media profile. They have filled the comment section with: “Did Skip get hacked again?” and “This brother got hacked again.”

There is no reason why Skip Bayless shouldn’t commend LeBron James after Friday’s game night. Especially the way the 39YO, didn’t let the collision between him and Rui Hachimura become a cause of concern. And ultimately pulling up an outstanding triple-double shows nothing but durability and efficiency, and most importantly- love for the sport.

LeBron James and Rui Hachimura’s mid-air clash raised concerns in the Lakers squad

When passion meets passion, there are fireworks. But in Friday’s game, LeBron James’ passion and Rui Hachimura‘s passion met with a painful collision. Both teammates were chasing a rebound when Hachimura and Bron clashed mid-air. Their knees banged and LeBron went down on the floor, looking visibly uncomfortable. While Hachimura stood holding his knee, the King had to get himself checked before returning to the floor. Well, the good news was LeBron James didn’t have any serious injury and neither did Rui.

Moreover, coming back on the court after consulting with the team trainer, LeBron scored in back-to-back possessions. Therefore, Skip Bayless’ “rarest of rare” statement for James fits perfectly. The 6’9″ giant shook off the collision and continued with his game like nothing happened! New generation stars surely have a lot to learn from the NBA veteran.

Friday’s performance, from bouncing back after a rough collision to securing a triple-double, showed why he’s a legend. No wonder Skip Bayless couldn’t hold back his praise! LeBron James truly remains in a league of his own.
