It’s been a busy week for the James family. Father LeBron James kick-started his Paris Olympics campaign with Team USA, defeating Canada in an exhibition game. Eldest son Bronny James donned the Purple & Gold and made his Summer League debut. While it seemed glorious on the surface, Bronny had an underwhelming run. However, Bryce James, the youngest son of LeBron James, took over the AAU basketball world with his enchantment. As a result, King James gleams with pride as he showcases his youngest son’s mastery.

Representing the Team Strive For Greatness (SFG), Bryce faced off against AAU’s #1 ranked team, Nightrydas Elite, in an intense showdown. Nightrydas’s star performer Cameron Boozer lit up the hardwood with some highlight-worthy buckets. Notably, the 6’9″ rising superstar came fresh off an MVP-winning performance at the FIBA U-17 WC.

Nevertheless, James’ youngest son delivered a masterclass of his own, showcasing his athleticism. Impressed by his son’s performance, LeBron James proudly shared a post on his Instagram story featuring Bryce’s highlight reel alongside Boozer’s clip.

Bryce James, currently in his senior year of high school, has already received college offers from Ohio State and Duquesne. Some reports suggest he might even consider USC. However, on the other hand, Bronny James didn’t have anything go his way.

After storming into the LA Lakers fold as a 55th pick, his performance has been underwhelming. In the California Classics, he averaged 3.5 PPG and 3.5 RPG with a poor shooting percentage of 25%. In his Summer League debut in Las Vegas, he started strong with 6 straight points but only added 2 more for the rest of the game. Speaking of his disappointing performance, he said, “I just feel like I’m in a little slump right now.”

What’s the future like for the James family?

With two members already in the NBA, only Bryce James remains to join the league. At 39, LeBron James is nearing the final lap of his illustrious career. The four-time NBA champion has toned down his athleticism and embraced a more cerebral approach to his game.

Addressing a question, regarding the “aging superstar,” JJ Redick revealed his nuanced approach to handling the superstar. He said, “Over the last six months, we have been able to be very open with each other in our conversations on the podcast, in our group texts.” Moreover, speaking of his age, James himself said, “When I’m healthy enough to go out there and play, I just try to perform at a high level, help my teammates, do great things on the floor, try to be productive.”

Bronny James has a long road ahead. The 19-year-old must improve his skill set to stay longer in the league. Meanwhile, Bryce James, often reported as more naturally talented than his brother, might make his NBA debut in a few years. Veteran analyst Brian Windhorst considers Bryce more “naturally talented” than Bronny. Nevertheless, Bronny has the potential to improve and carve his path.
