From the get-go, Iowa vs South Carolina was everything fans expected. Caitlin Clark took charge and boy oh boy, there was no stopping her. In a matter of minutes, she helped her team march up to a huge lead. She also made a 3-pointer from 30.3 feet away. Clark locked in 18 points in the first quarter itself. As her brilliance panned out, LeBron James took to X and shut down her supposed haters.

He wrote, “If you don’t rock with Caitlin Clark game you’re just a FLAT OUT HATER!!!!!”. From the looks of it, he urged these haters to stay away from Caitlin. But shouldn’t there be praise all around the NCAA star for her top-notch performances and leadership? Well, there’ve been a few critics too, viral ones. And it seems like King James appeared to swat them away while the fanbase connected those dots.

LeBron James’ message serves as a word of comfort for Clark as she was met with a blaring warning online. In the coach’s convention for Women’s basketball, Hall Of Famer Lynette Woodard took an open dig at Caitlin Clark.

She stated that Caitlin didn’t necessarily break her all-time women’s college scoring record of 3,649 points. Woodard had set this record between 1978-81 while playing for Kansas. She added, “You can’t duplicate what you’re not duplicating.” Surprisingly, the Hall of Famer then praised Clark, saying, “I think she’s an awesome player. I would love to meet her.” This statement, which aired on Saturday, was met with severe criticism.

Barstool Founder Dave Portnoy quickly responded to the Hall of Famer. He said, “I’ll spread the word, you’re a jealous id**t”. He claimed that it was crazy how other women were jealous of Clark’s impact.

Despite LeBron James’ support, it isn’t all dreamy for Caitlin Clark!

They say you aren’t successful if you don’t have haters and it is safe to say Caitlin Clark has done enough to sting several people. While this season was filled with records, milestones, and a tremendous amount of hard work, it also came with criticism. If not the criticism, Clark has surely made some WNBA heads turn. Legendary Diana Taurasi made a sly comment for the NCAA Top scorer, warning her of the reality of the league.

She said, “You look superhuman against some 18-year-olds but you’re going to come play with some grown women that have been playing professional basketball for a long time.” the 10x WNBA All-Star made a mention of the ‘transition period’, “when you have to give some grace as a rookie”. However, she also mentioned that the youngster who is already so skillful will get better and better. Even then, this will be quite the challenge for the future WNBA star, as she will now need to back herself first and not let complacency set in.
