Just like the Travis Scott song, the NBA and the Wayans family go way back. While Trav does mention James Harden in the song, the point still stands. They’re one of the most notoriously loved public figure groups in the industry, and they’re known to dabble their time and energy in the ongoings of the Association too. While Michael Jordan is usually their partner in crime, Lakers superstar LeBron James has been very public of their friendly and comedic social media fueds over time.
Bron is known for being a mentality monster. His brain is built like a brick wall, and he’s known to pull up to the biggest of the biggest games and not even break a sweat; something Damon Wayans Jr. never fails to shed light on. In a recent interview, he said, “LeBron is great, but I’m just trying to keep him humble! Someone has to remind him that not everything is about winning.” But knowing the King, he didn’t take it for face value.
His recent most interaction with the family was in the form of a X post bigging up their achievements, after they got inducted into the NAACP Image Hall of Fame. “THE GOAT FAMILY OF COMEDY MAN!!!! LOVE THIS SHIT RIGHT HERE!!! 🫡 to The WAYANS,” he said, showcasing the positive spirt in their so called ‘fued’.

It might be a rivalry in the public eye, but both sides are mature enough to keep up the good vibes and high spirits, aiming to please the crowd and the media with something to cover. There’s not been a hitch or misunderstanding between the sides, and they’ve managed to keep it in check for all this time.

Zhuri James gives reality check to LeBron
40-year-old James might not be at the peak of his powers anymore, but even during the later stages of his career, he still proves to be one of the best in the business. Missing out on the All-Star game due to injury gave him time to spend with his family- Zhuri James in particular. Their relationship has been covered extensively in the media throughout her life—and it’s much to the love and pride of the Broniacs.
In a recent Instagram story, Zhuri was filmed by LeBron mimicking her dad running into frame, saying “I’m open, I’m open” with a Lakers towel wrapper around her. That wasn’t the end of it though—as the antics continued much later into the video. She stuck yellow wax on her cheeks imitating the iconic beard of the King, followed with a failed catch-and-shoot attempt which sent LeBron to stitches. “Not my daughter imitating me! The beard though got me weak!” said the King on social media.
