While the Stephen A. Smith-LeBron James beef controversy took place over Bronny’s performance, the Lakers’ game against the Milwaukee Bucks set a different tone. Bronny played 30 minutes and recorded 17 points on 7 of 10 shooting from the field and also knocked down two 3-pointers and dished five assists. And so, fans wanted to know what Smith would say. “I was very impressed,” said Smith.

“This is the big picture that I want to bring up: I might have been wrong. Are you listening LeBron James? Are you listening James family? Are you listening [LeBron’s agent] Rich Paul? Are you listening all you people?” he called out before stating that all he wanted was for the youngster to play in the G League before the NBA. While he has been busy for the past few days talking about the Lakers’ father-son duo, the analyst interestingly bumped into the Lakers GM Rob Pelinka and had a candid conversation.

Well, this sudden meet was days before LeBron James came back to the court to have a rusty 17-point game vs. the Bulls. Sharing the insights of their conversation, SAS said on NBA on ESPN:

“Rob Pelinka rolled up on me at the Lakers game a couple of weeks ago. He said, ‘We know you root for us. We know where you want to be in June.’ I said, ‘You’re damn right. I ain’t apologizing for nobody.’ Everybody knows my dream matchup is the Lakers vs. Miami, strictly for social reasons. Obviously, the Miami Heat ain’t going to be able to do that for me this year, okay? But I’m still holding out hope for the Lakers.”

Well, for all we know, Smith’s desire to see the Lakers go against Miami (which might not happen as the Heat may not make it so far) could be a cheeky jab at LeBron James because Miami is his former team. In fact, last week, the analyst went to the extent of saying, “We may never speak in life again. I’m fine with it,” on The Stephen A. Smith Show. “I get paid to talk about folks, not to them. I cover the league. You play, I watch, dissect, analyze and broadcast.” However, James hasn’t provided a reply to it yet.

And while SAS was in an oddly jovial mood at his ESPN studio discussing the games of the past week, the King made a big move. Interestingly enough, Bron and SAS would most likely be in the same building next week as Pat McAfee’s studio is about to light up with something grand. What is going on?

While McAfee kept the suspense, the excitement was visible. Stephen A. Smith is stirring the pot and Rob Pelinka is keeping tabs. Meanwhile, the Akron Hammer is about to steal the spotlight. Not his first time, though. And, the Lakers are rolling, but the real action? It’s happening off the court. Pat McAfee’s got something big, and with King James in the mix, you just know it’s about to be must-watch chaos.
