After a whole offseason of inactivity, the Lakers have finally made an addition to the team. As LeBron James and Co. entered the training facility on Wednesday, they got to know about this inclusion. It was a DJ! Yes, you read that correctly and HC JJ Redick even revealed whose brilliant idea it was. For years LeBron James has been sharing clips of his training with his social media followers where he puts on music that sets the tone for his workouts. Well, get accustomed to it as the King has started the norm in the LA Lakers practice session too. There’s going to be live music while the James father-son duo along with the other team members prepare for their upcoming games. The new coach told NBA Insider, Mike Trudell.
The Lakers’ reporter stated on X, “The Lakers now have a DJ playing music before and after practice, which JJ Redick said was a LeBron idea.” DJ Meel was hired for the job. During the practice, LeBron was spotted mouthing the lyrics of superstar rapper, Drake’s “Free Smoke” song leaving the fans wondering if he was trying to get back to the follow list of Drake who reportedly unfollowed him recently.

Despite having a good relationship with the Canadian, LeBron James showed his support for Lamar by attending his Pop Out concert. After what the 20-time All-Star did, Drake’s move wasn’t completely a shock. For months the rapper didn’t do anything until yesterday when it grabbed the attention of the eagle-eyed user of NBA Retweet (@RTNBA on X) that Drake unfollowed LeBron on Instagram. The news soon spread like wildfire among the fans and by the looks of it, it can be assumed that the saga will continue for a while.

The upcoming season is extra special for the James family as Bronny, LeBron’s elder son, will accompany him on the hardwood. Talking to the media about it, the 39-year-old said, “It’s a lot of excitement, a pure joy, to be able to come to work every day, put in hard work with your son every day and be able to see him continue to grow.” The forward mentioned how he and his son always push each other to do their best and hopefully, it will be observed when the duo appears to showcase some action on the court.
It will not only be a larger-than-life moment for LeBron but also for the league as the father-son pair will imprint their names on the NBA’s History book by being the first to play together. After all, the James family can firmly claim that the other father-son duos of the NBA are “Not like us”.
