LeBron James and Ric Flair—who's the bigger legend in their respective fields? Let's hear your thoughts!

With Bronny James now a Laker and LeBron James signing a two-year $101.3 million extension to stay in LA, it’s just a matter of time before we see the father-son duo as teammates. A dream that the NBA legend has manifested for years will finally come true. “We have one common goal on the floor, and that’s to win that game and get better every day,” the 39-year-old assured. Sure enough, no one is more hyped than King James himself, who used WWE legend Ric Flair’s fiery promo to express his excitement about teaming up with his son.

Although LeBron is busy representing the USA in the Paris Olympics, one interesting video caught his attention. Well, the footage contained a promo by Hall of Famer Ric Flair from the Clash of the Champions pay-per-view in 1995, right before he was about to team up with faction member Arn Anderson to face Big Van Vader. “Come on big man, I’m begging you. Lay a hand on me, he’ll kill ya. He’s Double-A. He’s the enforcer and I’m the Nature Boy. Wooo!” an energic Flair yelled.

But what was different in this video was that the editor had superimposed LeBron James’ face on Flair’s and Bronny’s face on Anderson’s, hinting that this will be their dynamic when the duo eventually plays for the Lakers. And the 39-year-old found it super-amusing and shared the video on his IG story with 28 laughing emojis chanting Flair’s iconic catchphrase “Woooooooo.”

Because LeBron and Bronny are the first father-son duo in league history to be teammates, everyone is eager to know how things will play out. Obviously, many are worried about it negatively impacting the Lakers locker room, as there are concerns about players being hesitant to speak their minds in front of Bronny in fear of backlash from his father.

Those concerns might only rise after LeBron James has made it clear with the video that the two will have each other’s back all the time.

Ric Flair once admitted being in awe of “unreal” LeBron James

While Bron paid homage to Ric by sharing his promo, it turns out that the Nature Boy is also a huge fan of the Lakers superstar. It was just a year ago that Flair made an appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast and couldn’t stop singing praises of the four-time champion. Of course, it helped that LeBron had just scored a triple-double a night before Flair and Shannon shot the episode. “I’m watching LeBron last night. I don’t know what in the hell. But the guy is unreal.” Flair remarked.

Sure enough, the WWE legend also deemed himself a ‘LeBron guy’. “Oh God. I love him. You kidding me. The King.” And when asked who he would pick between LeBron James and Michael Jordan in the age-old GOAT debate, he responded without hesitation.

“I got LeBron.”

So, we now understand why the Laker might’ve shared the Flair promo to highlight his excitement about playing with Bronny! Despite the anticipation, LBJ has claimed that Bronny will not get any preferential treatment on the team, “It’s going to work just like any one other of my teammates. I’m going to hold him accountable, and he should hold me accountable when I do things not right. I can separate dad from teammate.”

But being a loving father all his life, it’ll be hard for LeBron James not to interfere if things get tough for his son. Do you agree?
