The streak lives on. It’s 6-0 at the Crypto.com Arena for LeBron James and Co. Probably that’s not as impressive as the Cavs’ 13-0 overall record, but for JJ Redick, there’s a lot to look forward to in that number. And why wouldn’t he be hopeful? He has a 39-year-old LeBron James on his team who’s just out there making records each night. Without Ja Morant, the Memphis side was incidentally just “too small” thanks to LeBron igniting the endless debate once again.
The latest platform for the GOAT debate was Colin Cowherd’s The Herd Show. The veteran analyst compared the Bulls star to the iconic Golden Globe-winning American series Seinfeld, “9 great years, highly impactful and still discussed today.” On the flip side, Cowherd referred to LeBron as Law & Order. “We’re on year 35. I watched an episode 2 days ago. It still crushes,” he added. He stated that he is aware of Michael Jordan’s greatness in 15 NBA seasons but said that “he was a shell of himself at the end.” On the other hand, he mentioned, “LeBron’s in year 22 on any possession, best player on the floor. In any game, AD got into foul trouble. They’re like, LeBron, take it over.”
Taking the comparison further, Cowherd praised LeBron’s basketball IQ, leadership, and ability to elevate his game. He believes of the two, “LeBron’s easily got the best resume in the history of basketball.” Despite this, he made it clear that he still has the utmost love for Michael Jordan. Cowherd even confessed, “I watched Air again 3 nights ago, I watched the movie about Michael Jordan. He’s still relevant today.” The Golden Globe-nominated film Air features Jordan’s partnership with Nike and its impact on the NBA. However, he clarified which side he was on in the debate.

While Cowherd delivered a lengthy speech about LeBron’s brilliance, the Lakers head coach offered a short and simple comment to describe the 4-time champion’s performance.
JJ Redick gives 4-word remark after LeBron James’ triple-double
The Lakers’ 128-123 victory became even more special thanks to LeBron’s triple-double performance. No one saw it coming, especially after he set a record with his consecutive triple-doubles. His 35 points on Wednesday night coupled with 14 assists and 12 rebounds helped him to extend the streak to three. And Redick had just one thing to say.
After witnessing LeBron set the Crypto.com Arena on fire with his breathtaking shots Redick said, “He’s mastered the game,” in the postgame interview, according to Dave McMenamin.

The back-to-back victories and double-digit performances will certainly give the team a boost, encouraging them to replicate that level of play on their upcoming road trip, which has been somewhat sluggish. But with LeBron in top form, the already struggling Spurs may not be much of a threat to the Lakers in their NBA Cup game. This could also work in Redick’s favor, as he looks to repeat the success of his predecessor, Darvin Ham.
