LeBron's new nickname for Bam Adebayo—Genius or just another playful jab?

Bam Adebayo has indeed floored LeBron James with his balling skills. It wasn’t just Stephen Curry who had a splash time against Team Serbia, but also the Miami Heat star. Coming off the bench in the second unit, Adebayo sunk three from the perimeter out of his 5 attempts, finishing with 17 points and 8 rebounds. This effort immediately prompted King James to call him “The new Splash Brother” on their way to the locker room. Now, the superstar has come up with another nickname.

The Heat center had an extended party following the win over Serbia, as he celebrated his birthday on the following day. Team USA’s roster gathered to celebrate, as Bam cut the cake. In the video clip shared by the NBA, Stephen Curry and LeBron James can be seen in the front row, singing the good old birthday song while moving their pointer fingers with the tune.

Bam shared the clip on his Instagram story and wrote, “Had my young fellas @kingjames And @stephencurry30 Singing Front Row,” with laughing emojis. In response, James reshared the story on his IG and wrote“It’s the least we could do, Old Head!” along with a flurry of laughing emojis. Interestingly, the superstar dropped his third nickname, ‘Old Head’, for Adebayo, in the last few days.

Have an interesting take?

It’s quite simple to understand the backstory of the nickname,’ Splash Brother’. Adebayo went toe to toe with Stephen Curry when they played against Serbia, sinking three tough 3-pointers. LeBron James, without a second thought, gave the big man the prestigious title. And the nickname, Old head’ popped out because the Heat star called Bron a “Young fella” for singing in the front row. But, the third nickname has a unique story behind it.

Last Sunday, Adebayo shared a picture of himself and James practicing for their upcoming exhibition matchup on his social media. And, as usual, the 39-year-old reshared the image on his social media with a nickname. He wrote, “Bam Bam Bigalow,” referring to the late wrestling superstar Scott Charles Bigelow.

Charles, who went by the stage name of ‘Bam Bam Bigelow’, rocked the US wrestling world with his huge presence and agility inside the ring. He competed in various wrestling platforms like WWF, WCW, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling in the 1980s. Adebayo, who also has a big presence and is feared by many near the rim, aptly fits the nickname, doesn’t he? The fans can expect more funny pet names to come out, as Team USA has plenty of action left in the tank.
