While he was still recovering from tonight’s loss against Jayson Tatum and Co, LeBron James talked about where the Lakers stand among the best teams in the league. “I don’t think we are healthy right now. I don’t think we are where we want to be to compete versus the top teams until we continue to get better and better.” LeBron said in the post-game interview. Will the in-season tournament hustle cost LeBron James and Co. the Championship?

The Los Angeles Lakers were on a roll during the in-season tournament. They went undefeated in the tournament and were considered one of the best teams in the league during that period. However, the early surge in the in-season tournament might have taken a toll on the Lakers’ long-term health. The Lakers have performed miserably since winning the NBA Cup. Injuries have plagued them and they are missing some of their key players.

Anthony Davis has been in dominant form recently. But he is doing that with a lingering hip injury. LeBron James has also been battered and bruised after going full steam in the first 20 games. He had a sore knee from his collision with Jaylen Brown in tonight’s game. Jarred Vanderbilt and Gabe Vincent have been out due to multiple injuries. The Lakers’ hustle during the in-season tournament might lead to fatigue and injuries in the long term and cost them the Championship this season.
