A wholesome fatherhood moment to end the devastating night! The Lakers hosted the Bulls and fans expected a thumping win, as LeBron James returned to action. However, that wasn’t the case. The Chicago side decimated the Lakers with a blowout 146-115 win. While the fans were disappointed with the loss, especially with the #2 seed on the line, the 40-year-old superstar compensated it with a touching statement about his son.

Over the last few weeks, Bronny James has found himself amidst a horde of scrutiny. Even though the young gun shrugged it off, saying, “I always try to stay as low-key as I can whether that’s media, I mean, everything really, living life“, the media never stopped it. Stephen A. Smith front-lined it after the video of Bron’s confrontation went viral. Every human has a breaking point, so, at some point, James Jr. might have felt the heat. 

However, that doesn’t seem to be the case, as LeBron James detailed his son’s journey. Speaking to reporters after the loss, he said, “He has grew up in this… The kid is focused and he locks in on his craft, he said he hears everything and uses it as motivation. I mean, he is here for a reason and he showed it the other night.” Moreover, to further validate it, Bron cited his son’s latest interview, in which he had widely discussed his mental battles. 

In the interview with The Athletic, Bronny spoke about his inconsistency on the court. “That’s like the biggest thing (lack of consistency)  I’ve been criticized about,” said the 20-year-old, as he overcame it in the last few outings. In the previous game against the Bucks, he recorded his career-high 17 points. It wasn’t just about one particular game, but the path that led him to the game. Above all, King James made sure that he spoke about his son’s mental toughness before ending his interaction with the reporters.

Bronny’s road to the Lakers court wasn’t an easy one. Following his high school stint, he suffered a massive health scare before making his college debut. Speaking of it, he said, “With the scare that happened, didn’t really come back with a good amount of confidence. … I also wasn’t really given that freedom in college, even though I wasn’t producing like I wanted to.”

Undoubtedly a tough situation. In short, Bronny wasn’t prepared for a professional career. Anyway, the Lakers roped him in with the 55th pick. The young gun not only walked into the NBA alone but attracted a camera always around him. While he initially struggled to make progress, Bronny has now grown in confidence. Especially after his G-League. 

So, a reporter addressing the youngster’s growing confidence asked LeBron James about it. This is when Bron delivered a heart-touching response: “He’s gotten better from the moment he made his first game back after the incident, USC, to the moment of the night when stepped on the floor. He’s gotten better and better and better. I think his confidence has gotten better.”
