LeBron James did not hesitate a second when he addressed the trade rumors running rampant last week. Apparently, after his cryptic posts on a possible New York Knicks move, an almost certified trade to the Golden State Warriors had taken point. But that fire was doused as soon as it started.
And tonight, ahead of the All-Star Game, Bron breaks the silence on his thoughts about the same. When Ernie asked how far the whole thing went, James replied, “It didn’t go far at all. I actually heard about it when everybody else heard about it”.

He further tries to connect with Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley on the fact that this kind of dynamic is pretty common where there are instances of trade talks happening behind closed doors but never reaching the players. He further confirmed that if something along those lines does happen, James himself would bring it to the media. None of us can argue with that. Bron’s ‘Decision’ segment is the greatest example of that.
But since the Warriors trade hadn’t even got to him, the ‘Akron Hammer’ iterated that there isn’t much he can say on the subject. The Golden State jumped headlong into the potential trade as a final attempt of desperation. Their season hasn’t been the best and that’s putting it mildly.

According to Stephen A. Smith, Dunleavy put Klay Thompson and several picks on the table for LeBron. But the Purple & Gold was only interested in Jonathan Kuminga. The Lakers should have known better. The GSW considers Kuminga to be a core piece of their team in the future.
So, trading him for a player, be it LeBron James even, especially given that he could very well leave in the coming summer, to save their season seems too much of a gamble. But nothing moved forward or backward as the Lakers superstar put all talks to a screeching halt. He wasn’t interested in leaving LA for the Bay Area.

In defense of the Dubs, LeBron James’ cryptic posts on X did play a heavy hand. With him dropping hints all over again about Bronny’s NBA draft and wondering about his retirement, the next episode in LeBron’s life is something the entire world is curious about.
