“For a father, it means everything.” While everyone knew LeBron James would eventually share the court with his son when Bronny got drafted, it still seemed surreal when it ultimately happened last night. Although the Lakers did not win and Bronny went scoreless, it was still a historic moment for the James family and the entire league. Surprisingly enough, it even led to a bold declaration from NFL legend Deion Sanders as he gave LBJ his flowers for the rare father-son achievement. And LeBron reciprocated Coach Prime’s gesture with a hilarious response.
After seeing LeBron and Bronny create history, Sanders couldn’t help but address what he was missing out on as he tweeted, “I’m COMING Back to play with my sons to! This is HISTORICAL! Give this man his FLOWERS NOW! This speaks to Fatherhood, Excellence & Longevity. @KingJames @BronnyJamesJr.” While Deion’s sons, Shedeur and Shilo are highly likely to be future NFL stars and are wreaking havoc in the college football scene, it has been nearly two decades since Coach Prime retired as a player.
Sure enough, the tweet was just his way to highlight LeBron’s rare accomplishment. But that did not stop the Lakers star from urging Sanders to follow through on his claim, “🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Let’s go Prime!!!! 🤷🏾♂️😁”

Well, Sanders is now 57 years old, and returning to the NFL is impossible. Moreover, he is well settled in his new role as the Colorado Buffaloes’ head coach and is even grateful to be coaching both his sons on the team.
“Well, I’m not a dad on the field. I’m a coach on the field. I just happen to have a couple of sons on the team. When we step inside these white lines, on this green grass, I’m not Dad. I’m Coach. And they know that’s how I come at them. That’s how we prepare as a coach, not a father. Now, when we get off the field, and we get in the locker room, I turn into dad there,” noted Sanders.
And for LeBron, he loved his moment, which arguably might be the last time we see something of this sort.

LeBron James claims sharing the court with Bronny was “One of the greatest things”
While LeBron was growing up, he did not have a father to share his experiences. And that made him being on the same NBA court as Bronny even more special, “For someone who didn’t have that growing up, to be able to have that influence on your kids and have influence on your son, be able to have moments with your son, and ultimately to be able to work with your son, I think that’s one of the greatest things that a father can ever hope for or wish for.”
Moreover, LBJ even had an impressive performance amid the historic moment as he went off for 19 points in his preseason debut.

However, Bronny struggled to find his groove and didn’t score any points. But the moment the rookie stepped on the court with his father already in the game, it was an unforgettable feeling for LeBron, “The moment when we came out of the timeout and he was picking up full court and I went up —because my guy was taking the ball out. We stood next to each other and I kind of looked at him, and it was just like, ‘Is this The Matrix or something?’ It just didn’t feel real.”
With King James setting the father-son moment in such high regard, no wonder Deion Sanders is motivated to make a comeback to experience the same feeling with his sons.
