Even though LeBron James didn’t play in the Lakers’ matchup against the Phoenix Suns, he made sure to stand out on the sidelines—this time with his luxury accessory. Known for his love of high-end watches, the 4-time NBA champion wore a rather flashy Rolex piece that continues to turn heads in the world of luxury watches. It’s one of the wildest designs of Rolex to date.
The “Eye of the Tiger,” a diamond-encrusted Cosmograph Daytona, was first unveiled at the now-defunct Baselworld 2019 watch fair. With its bold design and intricate detailing, the reference number 116588TBR has become a favorite among collectors and watch aficionados.
LeBron, dressed casually on the sidelines while coaching his son, Bronny didn’t escape the attention of watch enthusiasts. One fan tweeted, “That boy Bron got that fire on,” followed by a fire emoji. They attached a close-up image of the timeless beauty.

This isn’t the first time LeBron has sported the Rolex. He was previously seen wearing the watch at a Lakers game last year, pairing it with a black-and-white Aimé Leon Dore jacket and matching Air Jordans. James’ love for watches is not new information for LBJ fans. The man has quite the enviable collection to show for it, too.
LeBron James timepiece array
Unsurprisingly, Rolex takes the front seat. From Daytona’s John Mayer – a watch that reached cult status, courtesy of musician John Mayer, the sports watch Yacht Master-II, or the more accessible Oyster Perpetual (he owns a couple of them, including the robin egg blue made famous by Tiffany & Co.) to the exquisite Rolex Day-Date 40 with its enchanting olive green sunburst dial, LeBron is the proud owner of some of the most classic Rolex timepieces.

Aside from his obvious adoration for Rolex, the NBA’s all-time scorer also has a collection of Swiss-made Audemars Piguet. Debuted in 1995 and named Millenary in honor of the impending third millennium, James owns the rose gold version with a brown leather strap. The next in his Audemars Piguet collection is the Black Panther Flying Tourbillon. As the name suggests, the creators crafted this limited edition of 250 pieces in tribute to its namesake.

Yet another limited edition piece (just 50 pieces!), the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 25th Anniversary Chronograph Tourbillon is a work of art. Complete with intricate designs, 18k pink gold, with a 45mm diameter and 16.3mm thick case, it was handcrafted to honor the 25th anniversary of the Royal Oak Offshore collection.
And of course, this list wouldn’t be complete without Audemars Piguet–the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Limited Edition LeBron James. Following his appointment as the brand’s ambassador in 2013, Audemars Piguet created only 600 pieces of the same.
But the ‘Akron Hammer’ has a special one for when he steps out in tuxedos – the Patek Philippe Celestial Grand Complications. A blend of artistry, technical achievement, and luxury, The Celestial features a rotating sky chart that showcases stars and constellations. And if that wasn’t enough, it also incorporated a moon-phase indicator. James, for his part, owns the rose-gold edition.
If there was a Hall of Fame for exquisite horological collections, there is no doubt the man would hold a lofty position in there, too.
Going back to the “Eye of the Tiger,” LeBron isn’t the only celebrity with this luxury timepiece in his collection.

The Rolex Daytona line boasts close ties with motorsport. However, the “Eye of the Tiger” elevated the model into the realm of pure luxury. Covered in a yellow-gold 40 mm case, the dial features a mesmerizing black and gold tiger stripes pattern adorned in diamond (243 to be exact!). Hence, the name. It also has a gem-set yellow-gold bezel with 36 trapeze-cut diamonds, and diamond hour-markers (outside of the 15, 30, 45, and 60-minute indicators).
Needless to say, there were a lot of takers for the “Eye of the Tiger”. Some of them are:
- Neymar Jr.
- DJ Khaled
- Conor McGregor (former UFC champion)
- Eden Hazard (Belgian Footballer)
- Erling Haaland
- Hardik Pandya (Indian Cricketer)
- Kevin O’Leary (Businessman and ‘Shark Tank’ investor)
- Konstantinos Tsimikas (Greek Footballer)
- Anthony Davis
- Mark Wahlberg
