Indiana Fever rookie and WNBA icon Caitlin Clark has accumulated a lot of buzz around her due to various controversies. First, it was the underwhelming performance of his team, and the fans targeted her and other players. After that, her omission from the final squad for the 2024 Paris Olympics made it seem like a deliberate attempt. On top of that, another WNBA star, Arike Ogunbowale, revealed recently on the “NightCap” podcast that the selection involved “politics,” which stirred the matter more. Amid all this chaos, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James moved forward with the support of Caitlin Clark but might have mispredicted the complexities of her situation.
About three weeks ago, LeBron James spoke about Clark on his ‘Mind The Game’ podcast with JJ Redick, “Caitlin Clark is the reason why a lot of great things is gonna happen for the WNBA. I’m rooting for Caitlin because I’ve been in that seat before. I’ve walked that road before.“ Pointing out the hatred that LeBron received throughout his career, King James tried to connect with Caitlin Clark. The path that he walked on might not be so similar to Clark’s. The Lakers star’s debut season with the Cleveland Cavaliers was a blast. He got the Rookie of the Year award after his first full season and represented the USA Olympics team in Athens in 2004.
Here’s what @KingJames has to say about @CaitlinClark22 and the hate that she has received during her time in the WNBA.

Contrarily, it was not the same for rookie Clark at the WNBA, as she could not make it to the roster, as mentioned above. However, the issue has become controversial due to numerous debates. Clark has been a top passer for her team, averaging 17 points and shooting 41.2 percent from the floor. However, there is also the possibility that she might not be selected due to the presence of extraordinarily experienced players from the WNBA.
Amid drawing wrong parallels, LeBron James warms up for the Paris Olympics
Though Caitlin Clark could not make it to the Women’s Paris Olympics roster for her country, LeBron is busy prepping for the upcoming Olympics. The Lakers superstar is utilizing his off-season to prepare himself for the upcoming season as well. Recently, he posted a video showing his post-workout routine on his Instagram story. It was from his cold water therapy session that also included frozen face emojis to represent its intensity.
James is not leaving stones unturned to train for the future. No matter how bad his season was with the team, the quest for the championship is always there. It could be the last appearance of King James in the Olympics. The Lakers superstar is a forty-year-old player looking for a good farewell from his team.
Though he could not achieve it this season, the upcoming seasons hold hope. Yet the Olympics happen every four years, and the probability of LeBron playing in the next one is too low. Coming to Clark, she might make it to the national team next time if she positively takes LeBron’s motivation.
