LeBron James doesn’t need to be present physically to have his presence felt at any event. Late in the second quarter, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown put the spotlight on LeBron in a way no one saw coming. After finding the end zone, Brown pulled out James’ iconic “Silencer” celebration. It wasn’t just for show—the Eagles were dominating, stretching their lead to 24-0 against the defending champs, the Kansas City Chiefs.
If you’re not familiar with the move, it’s classic LeBron. Hands push downward, knees lift one at a time—it’s got swagger written all over it. He first made it famous back in 2014 when he was still running things with the Miami Heat. LeBron took to Instagram to approve Brown’s celebration, who’s on a $96 million 3-year contract with the Eagles.
He posted a story of Brown performing the celebration overlaid with the text “That Silencer was on point!!”.

LeBron himself hasn’t used the “Silencer” much during his Lakers run, but he made an exception last November. Draining a dagger three against the Pelicans, he dusted off the celebration for old times’ sake.
This comes in after Bron met with Brown and other Eagles players recently. The 21x All-Star spent Tuesday night linking up with some of the NFC champs, who were in town to ring the bell at Wells Fargo Center before the Sixers‘ game. A.J. Brown, like any die-hard fan with a golden opportunity, stuck around outside the Lakers’ locker room, hoping to get a moment with the NBA legend.
James didn’t disappoint. He spotted Brown, Darius Slay, and a few other Eagles players, then casually wrapped an arm around Brown like they’d been teammates for years. Cameras flashed as they posed together, and Brown soaked in the moment. Who wouldn’t? When you’re face-to-face with a four-time champ, you make it count.
But apparently there was one guy who was snubbed—Cooper DeJean.
Skip Bayless takes a shot at LeBron James
Skip Bayless wasted no time calling out LeBron James after Eagles rookie Cooper DeJean intercepted Patrick Mahomes for a Super Bowl pick-six. The play flipped the momentum, and Bayless used it to revisit James’ supposed snub of DeJean earlier in the week.

During a Lakers-Sixers game, James was seen chatting with Eagles players but didn’t acknowledge DeJean. That sparked backlash, with Bayless leading the charge. James later explained that he had previous relationships with the other guys. James responded with praise, saying, “Cooper, you’re a stud brother and best of luck in the super bowl. Go be great!”
But after DeJean’s huge play, Bayless fired back on social media: “Hey, lebron, that guy who just pick sixed mahomes … his name is Cooper DeJean. Maybe he doesn’t look like he can play cornerback in the NFL, but he’s on his way to being a star of a stud! 17-0 fly, eagles, fly.”

DeJean has been a key piece for the Eagles’ defense, playing multiple positions. His interception set the tone, and Mahomes never recovered, throwing another pick before halftime. That turnover led to an A.J. Brown touchdown, putting the Eagles up 24-0 at the break.

DeJean’s pick-six flipped the script, proving that stars can rise when it matters most. LeBron might’ve missed him at first, but his performance made sure no one overlooked him again.
