The Los Angeles Lakers’ frustrations with how their season has gone following their In-Season Tournament win might have hit a boiling point following their 138-122 loss to the Hawks on Tuesday night. After the Purple and Gold’s loss, LeBron James vented his disappointment to reporters over the Lakers’ recent performance. He also might have done the same on social media, posting an hourglass emoji in the early hours of Wednesday, possibly implying that time is running out.

Tonight they face the Boston Celtics in the TD Garden, and there’s cause for concern for the head coach. As per the Recent Injury report, LBJ and Anthony Davis are questionable. Now, if they end up missing the game it could cost Ham his job.

This was pointed out by Trevor Lane on X as he wrote following the report, “Welp, I literally finished editing “Dear Darvin” right as the LeBron-Anthony Davis news broke. So if you want to watch some tragic irony, here it is…”

Following consecutive home defeats against the Denver Nuggets and LA Clippers, Boston has responded with two consecutive victories. The Celtics secured narrow wins against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday and the Indiana Pacers less than a day later. Boston is eager to defeat their long-standing rivals and secure a series victory in the upcoming rematch. This means setting AD and Bron sitting the game out would be handing out the victory to Boston.

To add insult to injury Lakers big Christian Wood sent a bizarre social media post roughly 30 minutes before Tuesday’s game, writing “lol” on X when it was revealed he wouldn’t be starting despite Anthony Davis’ absence.

Meanwhile, LBJ is also telling his teammates to buck up.

LeBron James has had enough

Bron and the Lakers are enduring a challenging season. Their six-game road trip began with a double overtime victory against the Golden State Warriors, but they have suffered two defeats since then: a 135-119 loss to the Houston Rockets and a 138-122 defeat against the Hawks. Following the latest loss, James delivered a straightforward critique of his teammates, “I don’t have any message for my teammates. ‘Just go out and do your job.’”

With just a few hours, Los Angeles doesn’t have much time to regroup before facing the Boston Celtics at TD Garden. Following that, they’ll head to Madison Square Garden to battle the New York Knicks on Saturday. Losing both games would extend their losing streak to four games, a situation they cannot afford. The big question is whether LeBron James and the Lakers will rise to the occasion and deliver their best performance against these formidable opponents this week.
