Ah, who doesn’t love a good old internet meme? And LeBron James has been the face of many viral ones throughout his legendary career. But one that’s stuck with him for a long time now involves a rumor that he has never made it past the first page of any book he reads. Instead of denying the claim, a self-aware LBJ recently decided to steer into the skid by starring in a hilarious Hennessy ad where he can be seen reading a book titled ‘The First Page.’ Sure enough, speculations began that the book used in the ad was empty. And James’ latest online activity has exposed the truth!

In his latest Instagram story, LeBron shared a post by Hennessy which reveals intricate details about the book. Well, as per the shared images, the book did in fact have some content written on its first page, which included the title on top and a brief synopsis of what’s to follow. “A man from Akron became a King.” The first line read, hinting that the story is about none other than James himself. And hilariously enough, the final line read, “This is only the first page.”

However, as James turned the pages, it shockingly revealed that the rumors were true. Apart from the first page, the book was completely empty fans speculated and only had the title on top and page numbers printed at the bottom of each page. Moreover, the brand hilariously captioned the post, “One page written, a whole book still to fill. Let’s make every chapter count @KingJames 👑🥃📖⁣”

Well, this might have been a genius marketing strategy showing that even though James has spent 21 years in the NBA, he has a lot left in the tank and his book is far from complete. But how did LBJ’s First Page meme originate?

Has LeBron James been planning the meme all along?

While this is the first time LeBron has addressed ‘The First Page’ meme, it has been an internet myth for several years. Well, it all began after an array of images of LeBron holding a novel while somehow always reading the starting section of the book made the rounds on social media. Be it during his time with the Lakers or back when he played for the Heat, James never seemed to get past the first page.

Sure enough, this originated one of the longest-running memes in the league about the superstar. Moreover, once he was even spotted holding a copy of ‘The Autobiography of Malcolm X’ and when asked what his takeaways were from the book, he simply responded, “I just started it a couple of days ago.” As expected, his response added more fuel to the rumors.

Surely, being a great business mind, LeBron has been aware of the memes all along. And he finally decided to be a part of the joke and use it to his advantage with his latest collaboration with Hennessy. Maybe, it was his genius master plan all along. What are your thoughts?
