LeBron James’ Abysmal Night Blamed on Two Lakers Stars After “Embarrassing” Loss to Heat

The Los Angeles Lakers are in dire need of a win. They suffered yet another defeat, this time to the Miami Heat, who played without their star player, Jimmy Butler. This loss means that the Lakers have won only 3 of their last 12 games. Their In-Season tournament triumph looks like a distant memory. The Lakers must promptly address their current slump if they still have ambitions of an NBA title.

Yesterday, LeBron had a dismal game against the Heat. However, some pundits have blamed the Lakers’ alarming decline in performances on Cam Reddish and Taurean Prince.

Gilbert Arenas calls out Reddish and Prince

In a recent episode of the NightCap Podcast, Gilbert Arenas criticized Reddish and Prince for their recent sub-par performances. He said, “It’s embarrassing at this point. How many games are you gonna go when the same two people aren’t giving you any offensive production?… That’s the problem, you guys (Reddish and Prince) combined for zero. The guys you’re guardian combined for 37. So that means someone has to take on that responsibility.” Apart from Reddish and Prince combining to score zero points, LeBron also recorded his lowest score of the season, as he put up just 12 points.

The loss becomes even more embarrassing when factoring in that Jimmy Butler didn’t play for the Heat. The slump in performances that the Lakers’ fans are currently witnessing has left their beloved team with a mountain to climb if they still harbor ambitions of winning the championship at the end of the season. They currently occupy the 10th spot in the Western Conference standings, having won 17 games and losing another 18 games. Due to their abysmal form, reports have emerged that Lakers’ head coach Darvin Ham could be fired from his role. However, would a coaching change turn their fortunes around?

December 2023 started with great promise for the Los Angeles Lakers, as they became the first team to win the NBA Cup. However, since then, the Lakers’ form has been nothing short of horrid. They have shot 35.1% from beyond the arc, 7th worst in the league. A change in coaching alone won’t address these pressing issues. The current Lakers’ roster needs a massive reshuffle. At the moment, the Lakers winning their 18th NBA title looks like a distant dream.
