All good things come to an end. So did the Cavaliers’ historic 16-game winning streak on Sunday. Team that pulled off the massive upset? The Magic—who were coming off a brutal loss against the Wolves the previous night and aimed to end their road trip on a positive note. While the entire squad contributed to the win, it was Paolo Banchero who led the charge, not only with his impressive performance but also with his brutal trash-talk targeting the Cavs players and the fans.
In a leaked audio clip from the game, Paolo Banchero was caught in a heated exchange with Ty Jerome. It all started after Jerome missed a contested floater, prompting Banchero to fire off, “You ain’t like that.” But Jerome wasn’t about to back down. On the very next play, he sank a tough shot, stared Banchero down, and let his game do the talking.
Clearly frustrated, Banchero didn’t take it well, responding with, “You’re trash, N—-!” The intensity was off the charts, and this back-and-forth only added more fuel to an already fiery matchup.

Then came the ultimate disrespect from Banchero as he told Jerome, “You ain’t s—. You only look good because you’re on a good team. Weak a—n—-!” Well, Ty is having the best year of his young career, averaging 11.9 points and over three assists coming off the bench. Even though he is playing for the best team in the East, Paolo might have touched a nerve by discrediting Jerome’s talent.
LEAKED Audio Of Paolo Banchero Trash Talking Ty Jerome👀:
Paolo: “You only look good because you’re on a good team, weak a** n****”
Jerome: “You can’t guard, I know that… You def can’t guard me”
Paolo: “You ain’t sh*t, trash a** n****”
Jerome: “I’ll start on y’all team” pic.twitter.com/PkKcVfTIPv

Of course, Jerome was not going to let the disrespectful comment slide and responded saying, “You can’t guard, I know that. You definitely can’t guard me.” while Paolo kept repeating “You ain’t s—.” Adding to the insult, Ty said, “I’ll start on y’all team.”
Comparing their records, the Magic stand way below the Cavs, as the eight seed. And Ty used his team’s superiority to double down on Banchero. Eventually, their teammates and officials had to step in to deescalate the situation, while Paolo got the final word, “He ain’t s— and he knows it.” Surprisingly, it didn’t end there!
What’s your perspective on:
Did Paolo Banchero cross the line, or is trash talk just part of the game?

Now that the audio is out, Banchero could get fined by the league for cursing out the fans. However, that might not bother him much because the Magic star is more focused on the tough win. “It’s a big win. Last game of the road trip. We knew this was going to be probably the toughest game coming in here on national TV against one of the better teams in the league also on a winning streak. So, big win.” He said during the postgame presser.
Paolo Banchero backed up his talk with a dominant performance, finishing with a 24-point double-double, while Jerome managed just 12 points. Most importantly, Banchero delivered in the clutch, sinking a tough mid-range jumper over Donovan Mitchell to put the game away.

After locking down the Cavs’ best player and keeping them scoreless on their final three possessions, Paolo Banchero had every reason to be hyped. Not only did he back up his trash talk, but he also sent Cleveland fans home in frustration, snapping their franchise-best streak in the process. With that clutch performance, Banchero didn’t just win the game—he made a statement.
With Sunday’s win, the Magic improved to 32-37, strengthening their playoff push. Now, they’ll look to ride this momentum back home as they prepare to face the Rockets on Wednesday.
