The Suns vs Clippers matchup yesterday ended in a sorry loss to the former. Claiming victory with a 138-111 against the Suns’ Big 3, LA took home the win. But what’s catching more attention now is a leaked audio between Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, and Jusuf Nurkić. In what seems to be a group attack on James Harden, he lost control of the ball and a heated back-and-forth ensued.

What’s even more impressive is Russ turning into “Beastbrook” as he did not give Durant and Nurkic even a second of respite as he relentlessly threw jabs at them. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the video!

Nurkic wasn’t too happy with the number of fouls assessed on his team. He was complaining, and it seemed like it got to Russ. Not wasting another moment, he straight-up gave it to him. Not ready to back down, the Bosnian center retorted in kind. “That’s why they got you on the bench.”

Not wanting the issue to escalate further, KD intervened. Only for Westbrook to turn his attention to his former OKC teammate. We all know how the Thunder-Warriors move from Durant had everyone up in arms. Anyway, that was the end of the whole tense atmosphere.

The Clippers crushed the Suns but left with more fouls than the latter. So, that’s a silver lining. At least for Jusuf Nurkić. But this isn’t a lone incident. Russell Westbrook was involved in something similar with the late Kobe Bryant.

Russell Westbrook takes on the “Black Mamba” in Olympic practice

The year was 2012 and Team USA was getting ready for the Olympics. The leader of the group was none other than the Lakers legend, Kobe Bryant. Russ was in his fourth year in the NBA and just making a name for himself. Highly competitive and with a mission to prove himself, Westbrook was one with the sport.

While it was quite admirable, he was still a long way from Bryant. But that did not stop him from challenging the 5x champion. During a practice session, Russ was seen taking Kobe on while the latter was defending him.

Landing a shot over the 2x Finals MVP, Westbrook says, “You can’t do nothing about that one.” While it looked like Kobe was going to squash him in the next possession, Russ managed to find Kevin Love for a layup. Challenging the “Black Mamba” has never ended well for anyone.

Even so, Westbrook did not back down. An Olympic squad usually consists of the best league players. So, there is no shortage of intense competitiveness. And that was a prime example. Also, now we know why Russell Westbrook could single-handedly take on Durant and Nurkic!
