Luka Doncic’s exit from the Dallas Mavericks wasn’t exactly on the best of terms. So, when he faced his former team as a Laker, you knew he was going to turn it up to 11. But here’s the thing—Luka didn’t just let his game do the talking.
According to LegendZ, a self-proclaimed professional lip reader, Luka had a little something extra to say. After drilling a deep three, he turned to the Mavs bench, eyes locked in, fire blazing—and whatever he muttered? It wasn’t friendly.
“That’ what I f—-in do… yea!” exclaimed Luka. And there’s no doubt that he wanted Jason Kidd and Nico Harrison especially, to hear him. After all, Harrison was the mastermind behind the shocking trade. And even though Jason Kidd claimed that he was just as surprised as all of us, clearly Luka doesn’t buy it.

Luka Doncic doesn’t show his cruel side often, but when he does? It’s fully justified.
He was traded without warning, forced to say goodbye overnight to the city he called home for nearly a decade. And when he finally got his chance to clap back? He made it count.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks? They’re struggling without him. Their form has dipped, and consistency has been a major issue. Over their last 10 games, they’re just 6-4, and in their last three, they’ve gone 1-2.
And the real gut punch? Anthony Davis, the star they traded Luka for, has only played one game before landing on the injury list.
But here’s where it gets even wilder—a national reporter is now suggesting that Nico Harrison wasn’t even targeting Anthony Davis in the first place… but a different Anthony.
National Reporter reveals Dallas Mavericks’ attempt to pull off a Luka Doncic-Anthony Edwards trade
Trading a 25-year-old player with his best days ahead of him for an injury-prone 31-year-old seems like a baffling move, no? Well, it makes more sense now that we know that Anthony Davis was not Nico Harrison’s first option.

Per Sam Amick of the Athletic, the Mavericks were interested in acquiring Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves. This would’ve seen Doncic move to Minnesota instead of the Lakers. “League sources tell The Athletic that the Mavericks and Timberwolves informally discussed the prospect of swapping Dončić for 23-year-old, three-time All-Star Anthony Edwards in the weeks before the Lakers deal went down,” said Amick.
He continued, “More specifically, Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison reached out to the Timberwolves and asked if there was any chance they’d be willing to trade Edwards. He was promptly told no.” Amick also added that the T-Wolves were stunned that the Mavs wanted to trade Luka.

And it’s not hard to see why someone rejected the Mavericks’ offer. Like Luka, Ant is one of the brightest young stars in the league. That, coupled with his extremely marketable persona, makes him a crucial asset for the T-Wolves. And a trade for Luka Doncic just doesn’t make sense in this case. Or maybe Minnesota just thought the Mavericks just weren’t being serious? Who knows?

Whatever the case, the Mavs messed up by trading Luka. And if Anthony Davis doesn’t recover soon, they may miss out on a postseason this year. What a difference a year makes!
