Anthony Edwards provoked the big man Nikola Jokić and stood his ground after a dramatic Game 7 victory. Throughout the series, Jamal Murray and Ant-Man went after each other in banter and heated exchanges. Despite the drama, the Serbian center remained calm and dominated the Minnesota Timberwolves with three straight wins. However, he couldn’t hold on to his composure any longer as the Wolves guard took it up a notch, involving the fans.

Seconds before the final buzzer in Game 7, Jokic could be seen having a word with Edwards, who had just waved at the crowd. The reigning MVP didn’t seem happy with the young guard’s antics with the Denver Nuggets crowd at Ball Arena. It raised a few eyebrows to see the Joker go out of character and the recent audio leak explained it all.

With 30 seconds left on the clock, the Wolves were up by 7 points and it was the signal for Anthony Edwards. The rising superstar dribbled the ball slowly to the offensive end, waved his hands at the crowd, and passed the ball. After the refs called a foul on KCP for a different play, Jokic headed straight to Ant-Man, and asked, “Why, Why?” and Edwards, clueless with him, asked back, “Why, what?” The big man got straight to the point, asking, “Why did you wave at the crowd?” But, the man of the hour, with a cold face, pointed at the scoreboard without a word.

It’s not that Nikola Jokić had a clean image before the game. The big man also had his fair share of heated moments on the court. Notably, in a game against the Miami Heat in 2021, the league slapped with a one-game suspension for shoving down Markieff Morris to the floor.

In the same breath, let’s find out how Jokic’s heated exchange will impact the upcoming Western Conference Finals.

Anthony Edwards had the world’s attention set on him, heading into the postseason. In the first round, the young man went viral for trash-talking his childhood idol Kevin Durant throughout the series. The banter served him well, as he went to average 31 points in the series.

Similarly, in the semi-final series, he picked up Jamal Murray. Since it was a 7-game series, the duo had their banters brewing for a long time and it blew up in Game 4. Both guards went after each other on the court. Following the game, Edwards addressed it to the press and said, “I just told his a** we love that keep talkin’ that, that’s what we like… We live for that.” Eventually, the rising superstar had the last laugh.

Now, Ant-Man has two bigger villains in the Conference Finals, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. The Wolves guard has already opened up about his match-up with Kai, as he said, “It’s going to be fun, man. My matchup is going to be Kyrie, so that’s going to be fun. We’re going to see what I can do vs. him.”
