An enthralling matchup awaits the Western Conference. In a repeat of last year’s Western Conference Semifinals, the Minnesota Timberwolves will take on the Denver Nuggets. The Wolves have had the upper hand in recent contests. They won the first outing in a thrilling three-point victory. Likewise, Anthony Edwards was the talisman that night. But now, the Wolves may be without their eccentric pack leader.
According to the injury report, Ant-Man is questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Denver Nuggets. The athletic guard is dealing with an illness, a plague that seems to have made many of the NBA’s promising stars victims. Edwards isn’t one to miss games unless he is suffering from something major.
Hence, as it stands, there is still a chance that Edwards suits up for the Wolves. But that’s not the end of the line for the Timberwolves. Donte DiVincenzo, the former Knicks sharpshooter has been diagnosed with a “stable turf toe with a partial tear of the plantar ligament”. Although he won’t need surgery, the Wolves be without the perimeter threat for the next three weeks.

Anthony Edwards and the Wolves face a major challenge against the Nuggets
The Minnesota Timberwolves have struggled all season to find consistent momentum with their new additions. The franchise has won only two of their last five games and sits just 2 games above .500. Against the Nuggets, it’s often been Anthony Edwards who pushed the pressure with his fierce motor.
But even with him, they are facing probably the most coordinated offense in the league. The Denver Nuggets haven’t lost in the last four games. Nikola Jokic has logged a triple-double in each of those contests. In addition, they have seen a dramatic improvement defensively, a strong tool for a Wolves offense that is yet to set its footing.
If Anthony Edwards is absent, the onus will fall upon the Wolves’ depth. Julius Randle will most likely be called upon to lead the attack. Although capable of being the focal point of the system, Randle has been inconsistent this season averaging 18.9 points and 7.3 rebounds. It’s his lowest mark since his last season with the Lakers.

Contributions from the likes of Jaden McDaniels and Naz Reid could also prove pivotal in this highly anticipated matchup. Regardless of who plays though, it’s paramount for the Wolves to find various outlets against the Nuggets that do a sublime job of getting all of their components involved.

The Wolves will have to rely on teamwork rather than having an individual-centric attack against a team like the Nuggets. Their rivals lead the league in tola assists per game, producing 31 assists per game. Furthermore, they also average the third most points in the league, nearly 11 more than the Timberwolves.
A victory in this could have great implications on the team’s confidence as they look to repair their sporadic season. Do you think they can win a second consecutive game against the Nuggets this season? Let us know your views in the comments below.
