3-7! When looking at their record over the last 10 games, the Golden State Warriors haven’t been able to get the better of the Indiana Pacers. This is unfortunate, especially since Stephen Curry and co currently need to go up against teams that can help them gain momentum. After all, having lost 6 of their last 10 games, and having gotten their win record reduced to 19-18, any further losses can remove the playoff chances for the Bay Area franchise. Therefore, going into the upcoming matchup at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the Warriors will have to perform at their best level. Unfortunately, it will be hard to do so since the squad will not be at their full strength.

According to the Golden State Warriors Injury Report, 5 players are now listed with an ailment, with 4 being ‘OUT’ for the upcoming matchup. Moses Moody, who recently sustained a left knee patellar tendinopathy, continues remaining ‘Questionable’. Since his status was downgraded from ‘Questionable’ to ‘OUT’ before the Pistons matchup, the same can happen again.

Meanwhile, Andrew Wiggins will miss his 2 consecutive game, and 6 of this season. After all, he continues to be ‘OUT’ because of personal reasons. Brandin Podziemski, who sustained a right abdominal strain, will miss his 6 consecutive game while Jonathan Kuminga’s lateral right ankle sprain is not set to be re-evaluated for another three weeks. The Warriors earlier announced that Gary Payton II, who is dealing with a calf ailment, has been cleared to begin individual workouts. While he can be expected to return to the main lineup soon, he won’t recover in time to take on the Indiana Pacers.

If the situation for the Warriors couldn’t get any worse, add the fact that Stephen Curry’s name also continues to be on the list. Since the commencement of the ongoing season, the Warriors star has sustained issues in his ankle, hip, and knee. He even developed a right cervical facet inflammation at one point. Before the Pistons matchup, the All-Time Three-Point Leader was listed as ‘Questionable’ with left knee inflammation. Despite this, he played for 36 minutes and contributed 17 points to help in the 107-104 win. For the Pacers matchup, Curry continues to be ‘Questionable’. This does not guarantee his unavailability. However, there is a chance that the injury may cause Curry to perform as badly against the Pacers as he did against the Pistons.

Speaking of the Indiana Pacers, the Eastern Conference franchise is also not without its injury woes. After all, they currently have 3 players listed as ‘OUT’, while two others are on a ‘Day-To-Day’ basis. Holding a ‘Questionable’ status, Myles Turner missed the previous matchup against the Chicago Bulls due to an illness and may miss a 2 consecutive game.

Tyrese Haliburton sustained an ankle sprain just before halftime during the Pacers-Nets game. He played the second half of that game and the next Bulls matchup. However, his current ‘Questionable’ status against the Warriors is no guarantee of his future availability. Isiah Jackson and James Wiseman’s torn Achilles ailments will keep them ‘OUT’ anyway, while Aaron Nesmith still needs some time to work on his conditioning amidst his left ankle sprain.

Given these updates, both teams will have to make adjustments to their starting lineups.

In the off-chance that Stephen Curry misses the Warriors-Pacers back-to-back matchups, then Steve Kerr will most likely depend on Dennis Schroder (hip) to pick up the slack as a point guard. Meanwhile, to cover for Andrew Wiggins, Buddy Hield may once again start as a small forward. Hield may also receive additional minutes to cover for Brandin Podziemski. Amidst this, the starting lineup for the Golden State Warriors is expected to look like this:
