The Laker legend, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, is a reticent man until he sees something wrong that needs to be addressed. The Captain was so ticked by LaVar Ball?s antics that he voiced his opinion about him. Though Kareem only pointed out the flaw and did not besmirch the person, LaVar chose the other way around. A comment on the influence on the sport turned into a nasty family diatribe in the Vlad TV interview.
LaMelo Ball is a tremendous talent. As much as one wants to give credit to LaVar for Melo?s success and skill, shouldn?t that be applicable to his middle son’s failure too?

The Family Feud
In 2017, as Lonzo Ball was gearing up to get drafted, father LaVar went on a hyping frenzy about his son. Kareem saw his tactics and called him out: ?Parents like LaVar Ball are bad for college basketball because they create a “huckster show.” Everybody knows about his sons because he has been able to hype them. But I don’t think that’s good for college basketball.”
Though Lonzo Ball got drafted No. 2 by the Lakers, many like Kareem and Charles Barkley found themselves at loggerheads with LaVar?s ways. This old resentment was brought up in the Vlad TV interview, which riled up LaVar and made him spit venom. In the below video, you will see how LaVar chides Kareem by making a ?pay attention to your family? remark.
The Vlad TV host also gave Kareem?s family information to LaVar, which egged him further to take more potshots at the Laker Legend.
LaVar taunted Kareem for having 5 kids with 3 different women and having none of his kids as popular as his sons.

What about Gelo?
As much as LaVar Ball wants to thump his chest for getting his 2 sons in the league, his middle son is still struggling. It is not a point of ridicule, but a voice of concern.

LaVar discontinued his sons’ education to take them to play in Lithuania. For Melo, it worked out. But for Gelo, he is still stuck in a rut trying to make it to the league.

For all the kids trying to make it to the league, it is only their skills and talents that would get noticed, not the hype. And for any parent out there trying to follow in the footsteps of LaVar, please look at all his sons, not the only two who are in the league.
