There isn’t a single season where a potential All-Star wasn’t snubbed. This season, it seemed to be Charlotte Hornets‘ ace point guard, LaMelo Ball’s turn. Even though he had an injury-riddled season, missing 22 games, this has been his healthiest season in the last three years. So, it’s quite a surprise for many in the NBA world for him not to make it despite the flurry of votes. Moreover, the star had a second chance as well after Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s calf injury. But it didn’t make any difference.

It’s truly a frustrating moment for anyone and it’s hard not to react. Guess what? Ball had his own way of retaliating against the snub.

As per the league’s framework, Commissioner Adam Silver has the authority to name the replacement for any injured All-Star player on the roster. Yesterday, after the Bucks announced that the Greek Freak wouldn’t participate in the event, everyone eagerly anticipated his replacement. There were plenty of potential talents in the Eastern Conference that deserved a spot in the prestigious roster. To name a few: Tyrese Haliburton, Tyrese Maxey, Jarrett Allen, Zach LaVine, and De’Aaron Fox.

So, picking anyone from the mix would definitely upset the others, and Silver selected Trae Young. Not that he wasn’t deserving, but LaMelo Ball didn’t seem too happy with the decision. Hours after the announcement, the guard had an unusual reaction. Ball took to his IG stories, posted a video of the Hornets’ court with a ton of demon emoji all over the screen, and, most importantly, he added a layer of ‘F–k Da Industry‘ by NBA Youngboy playing in the background. Hmm… It does seem like a retaliation, although we’re not sure.

Amid LaMelo Ball’s snub, Young nabs the opportunity

When the 3rd fan return of All-Star voting came out, LaMelo Ball led the Eastern Conference backcourt with 1,908,967 votes. It seemed as if the star guard would easily make it to the roster. However, when the final result came out, it was a shocker. Players like Cade Cunningham and Tyler Herro, who were not even on the fan returns, made it to the cut.

It’s important to note that fan voting accounts for only 50% of weightage, rest 50% will be shared between media and players. There’s a possibility that Ball lost his chance on that front. Anyway, on the other hand, Trae Young is also an equally deserving candidate. So far, in his career, the Hawks guard made it to the All-Star roster twice and on the other occasions, it has always been a debate.

Following the announcement of the final list of players for the event, in which his name wasn’t present initially, he sent out a hilarious post on X. The post read, & it’s no longer getting “snubbed” it’s getting “Traed” at this point Sorry to my fans.. it’ll change eventually! All right, talk soon!” However, days later he got the well-deserved spot. After all, he leads the league in assists. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
