After much anticipation, the hoops community was finally treated to some quality basketball being played. The opening night has passed, and the NBA season is in full swing. Phoenix Suns were off to a roaring start against the Golden State Warriors at the season opener. The Suns bagged a 108-104 victory in San Francisco in the tightly contested matchup. Despite being without one of their three core players, Bradley Beal, the Suns still managed to prevail against Stephen Curry and Co., thanks in part to Devin Booker‘s exceptional showing.

After Beal tweaked his back, the team took a cautious approach by sidelining him for the season opener. However, by the looks of it, he might also miss the second game due to the same back ailment, since he is listed as doubtful for today’s game. To make matters worse, Devin Booker might also join him on the bench for tonight’s game against divisional rivals the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Suns sacrificed all the depth in the chart to bring in Bradley Beal to join forces with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. The goal was to form a lethal-scoring trio, and they succeeded in that front. However, a downside of assembling the star-studded group is that they are extremely injury-prone. The Suns will need all three of them if they are to play against their rival contenders. Without any of their three players, it will be rough sledging for the team.

However, Devin Booker and the Suns proved this notion wrong after securing a win over the Warriors. Devin Booker proved that he could take over as the team’s new point guard by tallying 32 points and eight assists in the opening-night victory.

While he was listed as questionable for the season opener due to a toe injury, Booker decided to participate and lead his team to victory. However, as per the Suns injury report, Booker is doubtful for the matchup against the Lakers as he is tending to a left foot soreness.

Apart from him, Bradley Beal is also listed as doubtful due to low back tightness. With both stars on the bench, it will be a daunting task for the Suns against the Lakers, who will be looking to brush off their opening-night defeat.
