The Los Angeles Clippers are about to embark on their initial back-to-back games of the season. Their first matchup will be against their arch-rivals, the Lakers. The contest is scheduled for Wednesday, November 1st, at the Crypto.com Arena. Following this game, the Clippers are set to hit the road for four consecutive matches. They will return to their home court in 10 days to take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday, November 12th.

Although the Clippers haven’t posted an injury report as of this time, there is some development on the Laker’s end. Recent reports suggest Gabe Vincent will miss tonight’s matchup against the Lakers.

In an X post, Dave McMenamin posted an update regarding Vincent. “Gabe Vincent is considered doubtful with left knee soreness, per the Lakers,” the post read.

Vincent is facing a fresh problem, marking the second minor injury he has encountered this year. In the preseason, he missed several games due to tightness in his lower back but swiftly recovered to participate in the regular season. His potential unavailability might provide Darvin Ham with an opportunity to test another player in the rotation. The top choice for backcourt minutes is likely second-year guard Max Christie.

Although many expected him to be in the rotation at the season’s start, Cam Reddish got the nod, and Christie has had limited playing time in the first four games. A less probable option could be second-round pick Maxwell Lewis.

Christie doesn’t play the traditional point guard role like Vincent. But his defensive skills and improved shooting from the Summer League could enhance the Lakers’ lineup overall. However, the good news is that Vincent’s injury is minor and he will be back on the hardwood in no time.

Vincent and other additions were supposed to boost the Lakers’ 3-point shooting. Despite a strong preseason, the regular season has seen them shoot under 30% as a team. Vincent remains confident that this will improve, and that the shots will find their mark. ?They will, in time. I trust that they will?, Vincent said. He further added, ?Guys are continuing to put work in, myself included. It?s 50/50 when it leaves your hands at the end of the day, you know what I mean??

Vincent has faced the most significant struggle, making only one of his 14 three-point attempts this season. Turning this around, along with others becoming at least league-average shooters, will greatly benefit the Lakers’ offense.
