Will the game go on, or will fiery chaos force a change?

“The NBA is postponing Lakers-Hornets game tonight at Crypto Arena due to raging wildfires across the Los Angeles area, sources tell.”

What’s your perspective on:

With wildfires raging, should the NBA prioritize safety over the Lakers' playoff hopes this season?

Have an interesting take?

Los Angeles is facing an extremely tough time, and even the Lakers personnel have felt the impact. Charania further reported that head coach JJ Redick lost his home to the wildfire. Thus considering the devastation, Adam Silver’s decision was not just a need of the hour, but also an ode to the ones affected by the calamity. “Tragic fires in L.A. have impacted so many, including Lakers personnel such as head coach JJ Redick who lost his home.”

However, this postponement poses a major threat to the

Lakers‘ future for the remainder of the season. They could miss up to eight home games due to the mad fire burning down homes and impacting lives. The NBA community is especially looking out for JJ Redick who’s lost his home. Amidst the concerns for the league and the Lakers, fans are praying for their beloved 40-year-old coach.

Adam Silver’s decision adds to fan concerns as JJ Redick finds himself in hundreds of prayers

“We play our next 8 games in LA are they all gonna be postponed?” If the situation in LA fails to improve in the upcoming days or weeks, Adam Silver might extend the postponement tenure. Simply put, LeBron James & Co. could be out of action at home for the next eight games. Their only hope would be the road games in that case.

While concerns mount over the conditions of the South Californian city, prayers are mounting for JJ Redick. Sadly, the head coach lost his LA home to the wildfires. Therefore, one of the fans commented:

“damn prayers to jj and his fam 🙏🏽” Well, Redick and everyone in the area need all the prayers and support to overcome these difficult times.

Another fan wrote:

“This just hurts all around.” Indeed. The fire that was fueled by the dry conditions and powerful winds has been merciless. Here the likes of JJ Redick and Steve Kerr have lost their homes. Meanwhile, a huge chunk of Hollywood stars living in Pacific Palisades are facing the same consequences of the fiery madness. Celebrities like Paris Hilton and Sir Anthony Hopkins have also fallen prey to the flames.

Someone has a good suggestion: “Is there a chance we can play in Charlotte instead.” This would’ve been possible if all the officials and teams hadn’t turned up in LA for the game. Thus looking into the seriousness of the matter, Adam Silver decided to postpone the game. Prayers for the city take priority now, so officials will reschedule the matchup for a different day.

“Clippers game should have been suspended as well,” a fan commented. Well, a major fact check here, the LA Clippers played the Denver Nuggets at the Ball Arena and not at the Intuit Dome. Therefore, there are no questions of suspension. Besides, had the game been in LA, surely Adam Silver & Co. would’ve made arrangements accordingly!

So, all you can do now is wait for the situation in Los Angeles to improve. The fire has done immense damage not just to celebrities like JJ Redick, but to the common lives as well. Therefore, what matters more now is for the fire to subside.
