Back in 2018, Kyrie Irving was inquired about an incident where he gave $240 to a homeless man. His response: “I’ve really been afforded a lot in this life that I play the game that I love, so… I just love giving back”. Coming from a humble background, the Dallas Mavericks star was born to another professional basketball player. However, the success ladder he climbed was quite different from his father’s, allowing Kyrie to eventually reach the pinnacle of professional basketball: the NBA. Now, having devoted over 14 years to the league, the player has signed extension contracts, partnered with shoe brands, and endorsed other businesses to elevate his net worth to a major level. A level that not only secures his present but could comfortably support the next two to three generations of his family.
Therefore, without any further ado, let us know more about how much the NBA player has earned till now.

What is Kyrie Irving’s net worth? What’s his salary for 2024-25?
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Kyrie Irving’s current net worth stands at $90 Million.
The 2016 NBA champion is currently playing under a 3-year, $120 million contract. He signed the deal after joining the Dallas Mavericks back in 2023. The decision to sign the player under such a huge deal was reportedly met with some criticism. After all, Kyrie joined mid-season in 2023, and couldn’t play enough games to help the Mavericks to the playoffs. However, those doubts were silenced when he and Luka Dončić guided the team to the NBA Finals in 2024. Now, with the Slovenian gone, the player and Klay Thompson are alone to lead the team.
Due to the cap hit placed under the contract, Kyrie Irving is set to earn only $41 million during the ongoing season. He earned $38.037 million in the previous season and is set to make $43.96 million in the next season. The $41 million salary allows Kyrie to be the 25th highest-paid player of the ongoing tournament. This places him between Pascal Siakam ($42.176 million) and Domantas Sabonis ($40.5 million) in the salary rankings. Kyrie Irving holds a player option for the next season. Should he refuse that, however, he will become a free agent by 2026-27.
How much money has Kyrie Irving made from his career in the NBA?
Kyrie Irving was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the 1st overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. Being the 1 pick meant that the player would secure a contract that would pay him the most out of any other players from his draft class. Sure enough, the Cavaliers signed Kyrie under a four-year, $23.198 million deal. According to Salary Swish, the cap hit ranged between $5.144 million and $7.07 million annually, with the average pay standing at $5.7995 million per year.
Kyrie’s rookie contract existed till the 2014-15 season. By that point, the point guard/shooting guard had established himself as a key player for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Furthermore, his status as a dominant player only improved after his stint in the 2014 FIBA World Cup. Representing Team USA, Irving averaged 12.1 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.6 rebounds in the tournament. He helped the team go on a perfect 9-0 record, and get himself named Tournament MVP and USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year.
Around the same time, LeBron James also returned to Cleveland. Therefore, the need was for the future All-Time Scorer to have a dependable teammate. A Scottie Pippen to a Michael Jordan, so to speak. Only this time, it was ensured that Scottie would be paid well. Therefore, in July 2014, the Cavaliers signed Kyrie to a 5-year, $94.3 million extension.

Unfortunately, the Michael-Scottie partnership did not last as long as the main Bulls duo. In 2017, Kyrie Irving requested a trade. According to Brian Windhorst, the reason was Irving’s desire to play “where he can be more of a focal point.” With two years left on his contract, the Cleveland Cavaliers traded him to the Boston Celtics.
When Irving’s contract expired in 2019, he entered free agency and landed a significant deal with the Brooklyn Nets. The team signed him to a lucrative 4-year contract worth $136.49 million. While signing with the Brooklyn Nets allowed Kyrie to partner with Kevin Durant, he could not make proper use of the opportunity. In 4 seasons, Irving only played 143 games. His appearances were limited due to injuries and personal issues off the court. Just before the 2023 trade deadline, Kyrie Irving requested the Nets to be traded. The Nets compiled and traded Irving to the Dallas Mavericks for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a first-round pick, and multiple second-rounders. Brooklyn also sent Markieff Morris to Dallas in the deal. The rest, as they say, is history.
What are Kyrie Irving’s endorsements and investments?
One cannot talk about Kyrie Irving’s endorsements and not touch base on his shoe deals. Like many young NBA players, Kyrie initially signed with Nike in 2011. By 2014, the brand’s confidence in the player reached a level where he became the 20th NBA player ever to receive his own signature sneaker. As a signature athlete, Kyrie signed a deal that paid him $11 million per year.

According to a December 2022 report, since the launch of the Kyrie 1, the annual Kyrie model has been listed among the most worn shoes across the league. Over 164 players had worn the Kyrie 7 in games back then. Unfortunately, around 2022, Kyrie Irving got into trouble with the brand after reportedly promoting antisemitic content. By December 2022, after initially suspending the partnership and scrapping the release of Kyrie 8, Nike completely cut ties with the player.
The Chinese brand, Anta Sports, then came as a saving grace in the player’s life. In September 2023, Kyrie Irving announced that he had signed a five-year collaboration agreement with them. Kyrie was also named the company’s Chief Creative Officer. In March 2024, the world was introduced to the Anta Kai 1. With a purple and pink colorway titled “Artist on the Court”, the sneaker was designed by reportedly taking the player’s ‘Native American Roots’ into consideration. From Irving’s custom signature logo in gold to the corners carrying Egyptian hieroglyphs, the shoe represented Kyrie Irving himself. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that they give off a bit of a ‘Black Panther’ vibe!

Other than Anta, Kyrie is also involved with KICKS CREW, having invested in the brand back in December 2023. The player’s endorsement of Pepsi is also quite well known, thanks to the “Uncle Drew” ad series he was a part of. Beginning in 2012, the series’ popularity even allowed it to be adapted into a feature film in 2018. Speaking of acting, the NBA player’s acting credits also extend to his guest role on Disney’s ‘Kickin’ It’, and a brief voice acting role in Family Guy.
