22-year-old LaMelo Ball is one of the most exciting young talents to watch in the NBA. The Charlotte Hornets guard bagged a massive 5-year $260 million contract this off-season, solidifying his position as the franchise leader. But the Hornets are far from becoming title contenders. 11-year NBA veteran Austin Rivers called out the Hornets front office for surrounding their superstar with ?Troubled Youth? which is hindering their success.

Hornets forward Miles Bridges took offense to Rivers? comments and fired back at the Ex-Rockets Star. The back and forth caught Kyrie Irving?s attention, and he called Bridges out for his spineless behavior.

The problems between Miles Bridges and Austin Rivers began when Rivers deemed LaMelo Ball?s Charlotte teammates ?Troubled Youth?. Even though no player was named, fans speculated that the veteran guard was referring to Miles Bridges, Kai Jones, and Brandon Miller. Bridges missed the entire 2022-23 season because of being accused of domestic violence with his then-girlfriend. His teammate Kai Jones has also made the headlines for calling out NBA legends and making bold claims on social media. Bridges called out Austin Rivers for his comments, ?Y’all hoopers get on these podcast and talk like y’all really like that. Speaking on other teams like y’all know what’s going on and most of the people talking the most sh*t don’t play at all. We gone see about all that this year on me.?

Former NBA Champion Kyrie Irving noticed the back and forth and grabbed a bucket of popcorn, ?Lol. Gotta love peer to peer hoop drama.? He also called out Miles Bridges for his spineless behavior, ?@ who you?re talking about next time.? Uncle Drew told the Charlotte Forward to tag the player he is referring to next time as he did not mention Austin Rivers? name in his comments.

Is Austin Rivers correct?

Even though Miles Bridges did not like Austin Rivers? comments, there might be some weight in the veteran guard?s words. The Charlotte Hornets have not had any significant success for many years. Their last playoff appearance was in 2016. Forget becoming title contenders, it is hard for them to even reach the playoffs.

LaMelo Ball has shown great promise in his brief stint with the Hornets. He became an All-Star in his 2nd season and has elevated his game each year. Melo might be the key to turning the Charlotte Hornets franchise around. But he needs to be surrounded by veteran players who prioritize the team?s success over anything. With the current roster who are getting more famous for their off-court antics than their on-court game, the Charlotte Hornets might be looking at another disappointing season.
