The New York Knicks’ controversial decisive sequence that led to their victory against the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 2 has gotten more attention. The sequence from the Knicks was the combined effort of Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson, and Donte DiVincenzo. Notably, all of them are Villanova University alumni whose victories were celebrated by their respective universities’ social accounts. But the Sixers fans could not take the appreciation post lightly, to which Josh Hart responded, “I think it’s idiotic that Philly fans are mad about that.”

The primary reason for the dissent from Philly fans was Sixers point guard Kyle Lowry. Being a Villanova University alumni himself, Kyle was not part of the winning team. This is what made fans go hard in the comment section of Villanova MBB’s Twitter post on their former students performing well in the playoffs.
Despite the Knicks fanbase going crazy over their thrilling victory, the 76ers are still filing a grievance with the league. That’s why the Sixers fans have not given up yet. They defended their point guard in the comment section of the Villanova MBB.
76ers Fans’ Reaction to Villanova’s Wholesome Gesture
Sixers fans swarmed up the comment box with Villanova MBB’s appreciation for their former basketball players. However, the university management was proud of their players for delivering such an enthralling climax against the 76ers. Still, the fans backed their team on social media.
One of the Philly fans spotted Brunson grabbing Tyrese Maxey as he commented, “Brunson grabbed Maxey. Wasn’t called.”
A fan even screenshotted the same moment when Jalen jumped on Maxey, and wrote, “Sure did pounce on Maxey like a wildcat. Maxey still has cat claws on his back.”

Interestingly, among others proving the Knicks wrong, a fan proved his loyalty to the 76ers with his comment that read, “We are Sixers fans not Knicks fans.”
Despite being close to Philly, some of the fans negated the school’s native land, as one of them commented, “You’re not a Philly school.”
One mentioned how the 76ers dominated the whole game as he said, “Knicks got one lucky break all game. Sixers lived on them all game.”
