Kyle Lowry pulled off a friendly fire at Bam Adebayo amid the Miami Heat‘s heartbreaking 105-104 loss. Days after the Heat traded out the 38-year-old, Lowry met the Heat team for the second time tonight. Despite his team’s successful outing this season, the veteran guard still seemed to be salty about the trade, as he was caught showing an obscene gesture to his ex-teammate. In response to it, fans swarmed the social media comments with hilarious responses.

In the video that surfaced on the X platform, Lowry was seen hiding his hand under his jersey and flipping his middle finger at Adebayo. Reacting to it, a fan wrote, “Classic Lowry.” The Heat had control over the Philadelphia 76ers for the majority of the game, with a double-digit lead. While it seemed like the Heat could take away the game from the home side, the Phillies produced their first lead since the 1st quarter with 9 minutes left in the game.

Here are some more reactions from fans.

A fan hilariously compared Lowry’s antics to Grizzlies star Ja Morant’s suspension saga. And another fan refused to believe it was a middle finger and instead claimed it was a ‘thumbs up’.

This fan uncannily connected the dots and claimed that Lowry pulled that gesture because of his previous connection with the Toronto Raptors.

A fan from the Heat Nation found the whole scenario funny, as their ex-teammate flipped a finger while beating them in a crucial play-off berth game.

While it may sound hilarious at first, it could turn out to be fatal for the veteran guard. As per history, the league isn’t lenient with the obscene gestures and profanity on the floor. During the 2022 NBA Playoffs, the league slapped a hefty fine of $50k on Kyrie Irving for flipping his middle finger at a fan along with the usage of profanity. So, Kyle Lowry might get a call from the league if the video clip catches the officials’ attention.

Did the Heat make a costly mistake by trading Kyle Lowry?

The Miami Heat have reached where they began their impeccable 2023 playoff run. They are set to play the Chicago Bulls again for the last spot in the playoffs on Friday night. The only difference is that they had Kyle Lowry by their side last year, and now they have a rookie guard coming off the bench for them.

Even though Lowry has his fair share of underwhelming performances in the playoffs, going scoreless on multiple occasions. At the same time, he had a Finals Game 6 winning performance against the Golden State Warriors in 2019. He dropped 26 points, 10 assists, and 3 steals to win the series.

As of now, he has played 130 playoff games in his career, scoring an average of 13.8 points, 5.4 assists, and 4.3 assists per game. Missing out on the veteran guard in the playoffs may put the Heat in a difficult spot. Will the Heat repeat their 2023 playoff run? Let us know in the comments below.
