The Washington Wizards are sinking fast this season, seemingly positioning themselves for a top pick in the 2025 draft. As they enter a full rebuild phase, Kyle Kuzma, 29, has found himself on the outs. Marc Stein reports they’re ready to part ways with the forward, and most importantly Kuzma himself is looking to move on.

It wasn’t too long ago that he almost landed with the Dallas Mavericks, but he pulled out of the deal after talking things through with Wizards management. Fast forward to today, and the Washington side has clearly shifted gears, no longer seeking the hoopster’s input on where he ends up next. As for the Mavericks? They’ve slipped off the radar, and Stein suggests they’re no longer a likely fit for him. Looks like Kuzma’s next chapter will be in a new city after all…

When ClutchPoints tweeted this rumor, there was a firsthand reaction from Kuzma’s mother. She reacted to the tweet, replying, “I’ll sit this right here.” What exactly does she mean by this? We don’t know, but it looks like the Kuzmas are gearing up for a change of pace.

Kuzma’s offensive versatility and 3-and-D skills make him an intriguing option for several NBA teams. However, stepping into a winning role, like the one he had with the Lakers in 2019-20, will be key. His role could shift depending on which team picks him up.

Teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and Golden State Warriors have expressed interest before. With Kyle Kuzma potentially on the move, they might see this as the perfect moment to add a capable player without blowing up their salary cap.

It looks like Kyle Kuzma and his mother like to drop cryptic messages!

Kuzma’s time with the Wizards has been anything but easy. Since joining the team in 2021, the Wizards have failed to make the playoffs, and this season hasn’t been any better. Injuries have kept him off the court for much of the year, with Kuzma only playing 12 games due to a rib issue.

But it seems like he’s ready for a fresh start. On Friday, Kuzma shared an update on his recovery, but it wasn’t just any recovery post. He added a cryptic twist. “Healthy, confident, full strengthened & tested thru the wind. Love u 🏀will be demonstrating who I am and what I’m about in a big way don’t snooze,” he wrote alongside a photo of himself doing a deadlift.

Later, he posted a photo of a man dancing in the rain, with the caption: “Sometimes you can’t wait for the surges of the storm to traverse.”

It’s clear Kuzma has been through his own storm over the past few seasons. He came to Washington after helping the Lakers win the 2020 NBA Championship, but now, with all the trade rumors swirling, the hoopster’s future with the Wizards seems really uncertain. It’s worth noting that they haven’t found a team interested in trading Kuzma yet, despite the rumor mill buzz.

This season, Kuzma is averaging 15.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, but his shooting has struggled, particularly from 3-point range, where he’s at a career-low 27.6%. With all the trade talk heating up, one thing’s for sure: Kuzma’s looking for a change.

So, where do you think he’ll end up/ which team do you want him in?
