Jordan Poole joined the likes of Kyle Kuzma when he moved to Washington. While Kuzma is coming off a season where he posted his career-high numbers, Jordan’s addition adds more championship experience to the team. Poole played alongside Stephen Curry during the Dubs’ fourth championship run and brings his wealth of knowledge to the team. His new partnership with the Wizards forward was on full display as the new duo logged 40 points to lead the team to a wide 145-82 victory against the Cairns Taipans.

The tandem of Kumza and Poole started the game on a high note, registering 16 points out of the first 21 to give them a massive lead. They then went on to win the game, with Kuzma notching 22 points. Poole’s scoring versatility was also on full display, as he finished the game with 18 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field and 4-of-8 shooting from three-point territory. Kuzma reshared a clip from their first-quarter game in which their chemistry was palpable.

In addition to Poole, the Wizards brought in Tyus Jones and selected Bilal Coulibaly as the No. 7 overall draft choice. While the young team might look weak on paper, their first outing promised a different future.
