The Latvian big man, Kristaps Porzingis, was out for tonight’s game. Sidelined due to a left calf strain, he had been out since their matchup with Orlando Magic. Not sure about his return, Porzingis was still on the court, cheering his teammates on.
Talking about teammates, there is one in particular that he has a strong bond with – Jaylen Brown. In the midst of entertaining questions, he refers to their ongoing friendship.

“We sit next to each other on the plane. A lot of times I take him home after our trips and we just talk in the car and stuff,” Porzingis said. “We just joke around and yeah, he’s a really cool guy to be around, to listen to. He’s very intelligent. He has a lot of great projects that he has told me about. He’s a very interesting guy and yeah, our relationship is just, you know, natural.” Clearly, their bond is strong, and it looks like it will keep getting better.
Porzingis wanted to represent Latvia in the FIBA World Cup but had to take a backseat due to foot problems. He will certainly look to rectify that next year. When the reporters asked whether he could persuade JB to join him, the Latvian native chuckled and said, “That’s tough, but I’ll try.”
Brown is also on the same page as Kristaps on their friendship
Relationships are a two-way road. And it’s no different in the case of Porzingis and Brown. The Celtics’ star has also commented on the off-court relationship the two share. The pair live in the same building and it is a major factor that helped their friendship take off.

Talking to the Boston Herald, the 2x All-Star had said that “it’s been a joy” to be friends with KP6. Hitching rides together from the airport, they get a lot of time to spend with each other. Getting to know each other during these situations is natural.
Brown couldn’t get over just how “hilarious” the 7’2 big man was. “He’s funnier than you probably all think, but he’s a good guy,” he said. Well, these off-court moments have certainly translated on the court as well. The two are a breeze to watch on-court.
