Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks is the latest chant in the trade mill. Jalen Brunson and Co. had been a welcome surprise in the Eastern Conference. So much so that they were legitimately considered to be championship contenders. Finishing as the second-seeded team in the East, they lost 3-4 to the Pacers in the Conference Semifinals. But the Knicks fans saw the damage a Brunson-led team could do.
Under such circumstances, the question naturally goes to what next? And the answer seems to lean towards Brooklyn of late. Franchise president Leon Rose is seemingly in favor too. Or at least that’s what hardcore fans have made out from his daughter’s cryptic Instagram story.
Brooke Rose shared a collage of sitting alongside her father in what looks to be an arena of some sort. The image showed Leon Rose with a look of concentration on his face. Although there was no caption or anything that suggested an explanation of some sort, it was enough evidence for the fans to conclude. One that is in favor of the franchise.

However, not everything might be as smooth as we think. Multiple reports say that the Nets do not have plans to make Mikal Bridges available. Not to mention, the two franchises don’t exactly have the best relationship between the two. The strained relationship started with the Nets’ move to Brooklyn in 2012.
Then again, the ‘Big Apple’ does have its weaknesses that might work well for their crosstown neighbor. The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor had stated that the Nets would be open to negotiation if NYC were to pay more than necessary. Not to mention, the James Harden trade had left Brooklyn high and dry. So, the payment doesn’t necessarily have to be in the form of finances. The Knicks’ first-round picks are surely an alluring prospect, wouldn’t you say?
As for what the dear fans have managed to figure out, let’s take a look.
The Knicks fans seem to have figured out the mysterious IG post-Brooke Rose
A Knicks fan page continued the air of mystery with an equally mysterious comment. “Somethings cooking,” followed by a side-eye emoji.

They were probably referring to the deep look of concentration Leon Rose had in the image. A few of the comments followed the same direction. For example, another individual commented, “He’s in the kitchen.”
Another New York loyalist seems just too happy and it seems they would be happy with whatever decision Leon takes. “Yeah he working on something [dancing emoji] if it works out Knicks fans will be happy. Let’s go!” This fan seems to have placed a great deal of trust in the Knicks’ front office.
Something yet another fan wholeheartedly agrees. “My goat is working overtime [smiling face with tear emoji] Best Knicks front office in my lifetime.“
And finally, this user decided to add in a bit of hilarity. Seeing as how there is the possibility that it could be simply that, an image, he decided to add a bit of magic. “Riddle, riddle thee speck plan Englis stop show and tell. [Riddle, riddle, thee speak plain English. Stop, show, and tell!]” Only if it was that easy!
