The post-2014 Golden State Warriors will go down as one of the greatest dynasties of all time. They reached the NBA finals in five consecutive seasons and won three finals. The Warriors added another title in 2022 when Steph led them to victory over the Boston Celtics in six games. Stephen Curry has been the protagonist of the Warriors dynasty. But without Klay Thompson, the Warriors couldn’t have won four NBA titles.
After taunting LeBron James in the 2016 NBA Finals for “getting his feelings hurt”, Klay recently opened up about the devastating loss to the Lakers in the playoffs last season.

Klay was devastated by the loss against the Lakers
Klay Thompson has gained a reputation for being one of the best shooters in the league. The second half of the “Splash Bros”, Steph and Klay became feared all around the league for their three-point efficiency and unmatched range. Klay’s exceptional defensive skills and shooting prowess were instrumental in elevating Steph as the standout star of the Warriors. The Warriors wouldn’t have secured four NBA championships without Klay Thompson.

In the 2019 finals, Klay tore his ACL, which meant he would be ruled out for the entire 2019-20 season. The following summer, Klay suffered another setback. He ruptured his Achilles tendon. He would be sidelined for another full season. Klay returned in the 2021-22 season, coincidently, it was the same season the Warriors bounced back and won the NBA title. Klay was instrumental in the Dubs’ title charge.
But the Warriors couldn’t repeat that feat in the 2022-23 season, as LeBron and the Lakers in the playoff semifinals defeated them. Klay recently opened up about the “Stinging” loss to LeBron and the Lakers. He said, “Stings bad. Because you want to win against a team that is a division rival, you want to beat your hometown, you want to beat your friends who are fans of the team, you want to beat LeBron (James) obviously. We have such a deep history with him. Kudos to him. He’s still out here playing at the highest level he possibly can. So, yeah, it stings”.
