Anthony Edwards emerges as the breakout star of Netflix’s series Starting 5, thrilling fans as he rolls up in his blue Lamborghini, revving the engine at his newly purchased, multi-million dollar home in Minneapolis. This flashy entrance is exactly what fans expect from the trash-talking Dunk Machine. However, Edwards’ newfound maturity after becoming a father has shown a different side of him, leaving fans admiring his growth both on and off the court.

In the 9th episode of the series, Anthony Edwards’ girlfriend Shannon Jackson revealed a heartwarming ritual between him and their daughter. “He has to kiss her all around her whole face, and she sits there and lets him do it and she smiles afterward. So soft when it comes to her.” This touching moment highlights just how much Ant loves and cherishes his role as a father. She said, “Since Aislynn has been here, I just see a total difference,” as the show captured Ant immediately picking up their daughter when she started crying, trying to soothe her. She also mentioned, “He wanna hold her. He wanna talk to her. He doesn’t wanna see her cry. She falls asleep on his chest.” This beautifully reflects the shift in his demeanor and how calm and gentle he is while caring for his daughter.

The first time we witness Anthony’s vulnerable side is in the seventh episode, when he rushes out of a game against the Sacramento Kings to be at the hospital for the birth of his daughter. In his hurry, he was seen running without a shirt and with his pants barely on, all to ensure he didn’t miss the special moment of seeing his daughter for the first time.

Fast forward to the ninth episode, and we see a transformed Anthony Edwards. Watching him spend time with his family and invest millions into a home in the city, it becomes clear just how much fatherhood means to him. He describes the feeling as, “Fatherhood, it’s just the best feeling right now in the world for sure.” This showcases the deep emotions he has for becoming a father for the first time.
