The Sacramento Kings go down three games in a row in the absence of De’Aaron Fox. The franchise leader sustained an ankle sprain during the team’s win against the LA Lakers. Since then the team has been struggling to get themselves on track. Importantly, after facing an embarrassing loss at the hands of Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun continued the domination in the next game.
The Kings registered an impressive record in the previous season, holding the 3rd seed with a 48-34 record. Notably, Fox played a huge role in it, almost beating Kyrie Irving for scoring the most points in the fourth quarter. Contrastingly, in this season, the team without their leader, seems off-color. Let’s look into the three takeaways from the Monday night game between the Kings and Houston Rockets.
1. Supporting cast fails to take control

In the presence of De’Aaron Fox, the Kings looks extremely lethal with their support cast. Domantas Sabonis, Malik Monk, Keegan Murray, Harrison Barnes, and Kevin Huerter form the supporting cast. They have played major roles in the success of the Kings in the previous season.
However, in this season, they failed to contribute. Notably, in the second blowout game, the starting five contributed only 41 points out of the team’s 97 points.
2. The Keegan Murray disappointment
The 23-year-old Keegan Murray, who has shown his potential, failed to lead the side offensively in the absence of Fox. The star dropped 10, 7, 12 in the last three games, starting as the power forward for the side. In the last three games, he registered a poor goal record of 12-33.
3. Jalen Green’s emergence as a star
Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun orchestrated the second blowout win for the Rockets on Monday. However, Green has already proven to improve as the offensive leader of the team. He dropped 23 points with an impressive field goal record of 5-9. Importantly, he scored 10 points only from free throws.

The worry continues for the Kings as they lose three games in a row.
When will De’Aaron Fox come back?
In his first three games, De’Aaron Fox has averaged a whopping 31.3 points and won 2 games. In his absence, the team failed three games in a row, leaving the team with a 2-4 record. Following his ankle sprain in the game against the Lakers, several reports suggested that the star would return after 2 games. However, the team listed him out ahead of the Monday game. There isn’t clarity on his return but earlier reports suggested that star could return soon.
