The Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade has become a ‘Where were you when it happened?’ type of moment in NBA history. As for Stephen Curry, he was at an event with teammates Draymond Green and Brandin Podziemski when he heard about it. And their immediate reaction of utter disbelief even went viral on social media. But now that Steph has had some time to process the news, he finally broke silence by accepting the harsh reality of the NBA.

Revealing his thoughts following last night’s win against the Magic, the Baby-Faced Assassin said, “Just because of how kind of out of the blue it was without any type of hint or rumor, any kind of sign, especially them coming off the Finals. It’s a reminder. Maybe only a few in this league that can go to sleep with any type of confidence, but you’ll still be there.”

Well, everyone believed Doncic was untouchable. After all, he is an MVP calibre superstar who has potentially not even reached his prime yet. But him getting traded has proven that no one is safe in this business. And Steph was stunned at the suddenness of the move, “It’s kind of a very unique situation across the board. I think just the idea that it happened in silence was pretty crazy.”

As per reports, none of the involved players knew about the trade until it went through. Even a superstar like LeBron James was caught off guard. Obviously, you would think that when two superstars with combined $270.1 million in pending salary get traded, they would at least be informed about it. But that never happened. Well, Davis will begin his three-year $175.3 million deal next season in Dallas. Meanwhile, Luka still has two years $94.8 million left on his deal after this season, with a player option for 2026-27. Of course, Steph was not the only player who couldn’t believe the trade when they first heard of it.
