Will the return of Durant and Curry make Team USA unbeatable in Paris?

While the men’s national team came up victorious against Germany yesterday, the WNBA players look to show the same tonight. The USABWNT are facing the Germans for their second exhibition game. While the Women’s national team recently played the WNBA All-Stars, losing 109-117, they hope to leave for Paris with a win. And to support Diana Taurasi and the company, players from the men’s national team did not hesitate to show up courtside. Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Bam Adebayo, and Tyrese Haliburton all were in attendance witnessing the Women’s team dominate the Germans.

It took the boys quite some effort to pull off a victory, however, it’s the opposite for the women’s team. They took a commanding 12-point lead at halftime led by A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart. The two combined for 23 points making it look easy in the exhibition. It was great to see KD in the arena amid rumors of his return flying all over the internet. On the other hand, Steph, who is lately having fun in London surprising fans, joined his former teammate courtside.

Well, it is a game worth watching before the Americans fly off to Paris. Also, Germany shares the group with the USAWBNT along with Japan and Belgium. This would be a real preview of what fans can expect from the women’s national team in the Olympics. Not only that, but if the women’s team manages to win gold this time around, it will be Diana Taurasi’s sixth Olympic gold, which will only strengthen her title of a basketball player with the most Olympic gold medals.

It is going to be exciting to witness Team USA featuring quite a few veterans in both men’s and women’s rosters. While Steph, KD, and LeBron are going to be the highlight of the basketball tournament in Paris, there is no doubt that the women’s team will have as much attention. Besides, A’ja Wilson, who won two championships ever since her last Olympic gold in Tokyo, will also be eyeing her second gold medal. She had quite the run in the last three years and she’s still not done.

However, the fun doesn’t end there. Similar to Wilson’s incredible run, Steph Curry is looking to bag his first Olympic gold. The four-time champ won the Clutch Player of the Year award recently which was a long follow-up of his fourth ring. He’s played in the FIBA World Championship back in 2014, but this is his first time in the Olympics. He openly admitted that he’ll join Steve Kerr in Paris right after his previous championship run.

Will the return of Durant and Curry make Team USA unbeatable in Paris?

Have an interesting take?

Although the Chef didn’t have an impactful game versus Germany, he proved otherwise in the previous game. Not to mention he’ll be playing with his former teammate who he shares two titles with. Now, back in the league, Curry and the Warriors have struggled quite a bit in the past two years. However, for Steph, this will be a new exposure playing internationally. It’s been a decade since he last played for the States and has won four rings ever since.

It will be a sight to see Steph alongside other veterans as they face Serbia on the 28th. Durant’s return is still anticipated, but the Slim Reaper is expected to be back on the floor by the end of this week. What are your thoughts on the men’s and women’s national team? Do you think Taurasi will win her sixth Olympic gold? Let us know in the comments.
